Yeah...
Basically each model/unit is worth X points. You both agree to have a Y point army, and then that's how your army is formed.
EG.
An Ork Boy is 6pts.
An Ork Battlewagon is 90pts.
You take it in turn moving in the following order:
1. Movement
2. Shooting (or Running)
3. Assault (Close combat)
You use a tape measure to move your troops, and you use Dice to see the effects of various things. (shooting/vehicle damage/Saving throws). The number required on a dice varies depending on the units stat line.
EG:
An Ork Shoota boy fires his Shoota at a Marine.
The Ork requires a 5+ to hit the Marine.
A Marine on the other hand has much better accuracy, so he only needs a 3+ to hit the Ork! |

Here's a GoOd link I share & recommend if you have an interest in boardgames, I fall on this during various research/lecture in game design/video game industry. I browse it a little bit & it like to be a nice database to have in your bookmark.
Not restricted to Warhammer info!
BoardGameGeek
Lol cut box setup Sad Beatonator that you are far from my country, I love tactic/strategic game, it's about time I did play one, same thing for role playing game (table, dice & rules books)!

LOL.
I have a Walker I won as runner up in the competition they ran "make an achievement".
Red Fraction
Win X games by just 3 points (or less)
TBH its relatively simple. you grab a spray can for the undercoat (I use black), a few paints of your choice and buy a box of troops. They come on sprues, so you have to cut them out and then assemble them. You get a variety of arms/heads and such so you can mix and match. Glue them together, spray and then paint them.
Me, I glue the torso's together first, spray them seperately to the arms and heads as once the arms go on it gets a bit tricky to paint their bodies. My painting skills aren't the greatest by far. I have yet to experiment with "washes" which are almost like inks that run into the recess/cracks and darkens them to give more shading.
Here are some "highly rated" ones from CoolMiniorNot (Click on either pic to see it fullsize!)

Morgoth, its very similar in one sense, we use rulebooks, rulers and dice, but instead of role-playing one person, we command entire armies. Games Workshop are all over the world, why not locate your nearest store and pop in to play a game? The staff have models and tables set up for games and you can pop down and have a go.
Will have to try and get some more photos when I can.
I currently have:
2x Warboss
1x Mad Doc Grotsnik
1x Big Mek w/Shokk Attack Gun
1x Big Mek w/Kustom Forcefield
40x Slugga Boyz (Some unpainted)
20x Shoota Boyz
10x Lootaz (Almost all unpainted)
12x Burnaz (Only 2 Painted)
18x Gretchin (Most unpainted)
10x Nobz (50% Painted)
6x Stormboyz
5x Warbikes (1 unpainted)
3x Deffkoptaz (Unpainted)
1x Warbuggy
1x Trukk
1x Dreadnought
1x Killakan
2x Zzap Gun's (with Krew)
1x Looted Wagon (Space Marine LandRaider)
2x Battlewagons (Only just got )

Would be nice to have a Red Faction boardgame even if the market is not there, but with tiny figurine to not take the whole room! BoardGameGeek prove me once again that is a complete achiever. It even have the unofficial fan made X-COM Tactical! Lol
I liked to play Axis & Allies long time ago & even far away a boardgame that I forget the name that I will need your help Beatonator that you probably know unless you are younger than me to not see it...
Little Description:
