My processor is a Intel core 2 duo E7300 and 4 gigs DDR2 memory. I have been playing RF with the ESC board with no problem. All I changed was the board and used the same CPU, Memory and everything else. I remmeeber there was issues with hyperthreading . I do use purefaction and I thought it had a fix for this kind of stuff. And when I sit there trying to spawn in I can see the players running around and they are real jerky. Assman15    Posted 27th May 2010 11:27pm Post 1962 / 2085 Hyperthreading is indeed the problem here. Pure Faction and Crystal Faction are the only "fixes" I know of. There may have been one released specifically for this problem awhile back, but I couldn't tell you the name. I also went into the bios and made some changes and nothing seemed to work. Wasn't there a duocare fix patch or something a while back. I had an extra Windows XP Pro lying around. It's nothing too exciting but it does have an Intel i7 processor. Since I stuck with XP. I'm stuck with 32 bit but I did have to run Red Faction in Windows 98 mode but it was do to that video skipping thingy. I mean when alone in a map, you don't see skipping but as soon as other players joined. SKIPPING. I almost thought I was going to have to turn of Hyper-threading to play Red Faction. Click Setup, and press the Detect Hardware button I think it is. You have RF configured to your old hardware, this might possibly be the reason why you cannot spawn. I am not sure Pure Faction fixes this or gets around it, but its a long shot. People have had this problem before, and every time win98 compatibility has fixed it. I understand that you may think its incorrect, but it is worth a try to SEE if it is right, regardless. I have never seen it fix a fault before so why not try it and see if it works. Im sorry for that comment above but it feels like sometimes, you guys enjoy putting people down for AT LEAST trying to help. It would be nice for a little positive critisim from you guys, your always negative . I mean look at Ice's post... Change your theme into classic theme then try with or without Win98 compatibility. Not one single comment about his post as we all know, the Windows theme has nothing to do with this fault. It feel's like an direct attack on me . I hardly see how this can be interpreted as an attack. Also, my second statement was a general one. It wasn't directed at you. And even though I had already did the detect hardware thing as I always do when I reinstall windows I still thank you Spikey2005 for your contribution. Unfortunately that did not help. I am going to have to give credit to Frank as win98 compatibility did the trick. I always forget about that because after about the 200th time of trying that on other issues and having it Never work i figure it isnt worth trying but in this case it was the ticket.
