There are some pre-made doors and elevators in the Red Faction Groups package, but for the most part you should probably be making them yourself. You'll need to familiarize yourself with keyframes, triggers, and groups and how they can all work together. Red Technologies has some good tutorials on the subject.

You will find that in Multiplayer maps, you might come across with some slight glitches, or delays with your movers.

Example 1
If a mover have been moved around and is not at its starting position, then a player who joins the server with a mover out of place, will see the mover at the starting point. This means that when that player activates the mover, you from your screen will see him flying, when he is not. I would try and keep away from elevators in multiplayer, unless you make the keyframe properties to "Ping Pong Once".

Example 2
Lets say you wanted to make doors for your elevator? First off, lets look at a elevator in real life.
An elevator has a total of 2 doors at each level. One for the elevator it self that moves, the other is the level door. The level door stays in place at the level you are on, to stop you from accessing the elevators shaft when the elevators not there. The other door moves with the elevator that also stops you from accessing the shaft.

First, in Red Faction terms, this can be achieved, but with a little minority to it. The event system for it to work successful is a little complicated to make, plus, you cannot use some events in multiplayer unless it is used with a special event we use often now "When_Dead". You cannot use a "Trigger_Door - >Delay - >Keyframe".

Second, if the keyframe system is set up wrong, you will see a unexplainable thing happen.
You will see your elevator door, moving ahead of the elevator, even when the elevator moves. This then exposes the elevator shaft.

Now to get your elevator doors to work successful without this happening, I am going to tell you something quick so that you can try figure the rest for your self, hoping that you know how to create movers already.

When you create your elevator, make the doors into keyframes first on the elevator. Make sure you do not make the elevator into a mover first otherwise it might or might not work
Once this is done, you need to make the elevator move. Select your elevator Including the doors and keyframes for the doors then create your elevator group. Move the keyframe into place to complete the elevator.
Once thats done, double check and make sure your elevator group has keyframes from the door inside of the group by clicking on the plus button next to the group in the list.
Once you have confirmed this, you will need to set up the trigger system for it to work.

Unfortunally, explaining it will be a bit long so I shall leave you to experiment.
Happy mapping .
