Spikey, What's the limit with Red's Objects and Entities?
I have 20,733 faces now, with 41 portals almost 500 rooms, and
the map is running smoothly (because of all the portals), no problems
with the building of brushes and faces and rooms, everything there is stable.

The only problem I'm having however is with the entities because I'm not sure what the limits are with them with the PORTALS... I can't find the list of Red's limitations on
things on here,do you know where is the thread that has that list of numbers?

I also found that if I put in 148 entities in my map. Then the weapons stop detecting the entities in the game (weapons no longer function). But if I take one entity out and have 147 in there then the weapons return back to normal (AS LONG AS I DON'T ADD IN ANY OTHER oBJECTS OR EVENTS) for if I do, the weapons won't work again, that's the catch with having a high number of entities but it might be also the high number of objects I have in my map also as well...

I don't have the list of Red's limits so I am not entirely sure...
.
If there is a workaround on this so I can keep my number and continue adding in the rest of the events and triggers so I can finish the map as its a Base of operations I'm building.

Lights on a face : 64

Lights in a level : 1000

Thanks Spikey....

So how many faces in your map are you at now?
Hows the space station coming along?

In this map I'm working on, I made some interesting changes:

* Both you and the Enemies now open the doors.
* Riot Shield guards come in small bunches to be just a nuisance.
* Some of the Enemies will now jump after you to continue the chasing..
* And some others also have an short invincibility counter put on them.

Last effect I want to put in with some of them is the ability to also cloak
themselves from view, so I need to try to see if I can make the VBM.
Anyone know how to create the invisible heat waves shimmering effect?

If you run out of entities (you can't place more) then split the level into two separate maps.

True, the faces I'm not worried about, as I can use that to smooth my level more to give it more roundness, but to be on the safe side,I 'll rather reduce my entities down to 64 and see if things return back to normal so I can continue to edit to get this finished.


If your level is small, then the Explode_When Dead Trick will work for the
entire level and you're ok.

But in a large massive map, the Explode trick it will only work in the first part of
the map and pan those textures, but in the other half of the map it won't Pan the
textures and you see black spots instead where the portals begin and end..
So Red has limits with the Panning of textures.
