Can anything at all be done from the pure faction guys on the following issues:

* Fish Eye Camera - causes close-up clipping problems in the editor with
brushes and looks all stretched and unnatural in both the editor and the
game.. We're not fish ! Camera should be much flatter so there's no
clipping issues when going close up to brushes.

* Shortcut Key to straighten the red arrow of the keyframes if there isn't one already.
If there is, what key is it?

* A Bug that stops the selection of gold key when another key is behind it or vice versa.

* A Bug that stops selecting all the faces on a brush (manually with CTRL
key in Texture or iface mode. . This bug pops up every now and again and
seems to affect certain solid detail brushes like outside scenery, brushes
outside the main map world ect. . So when this bug happens and the troubled
face is not highlighting, then have to select the whole brush by dragging a red
box around it and then it will highlight all the faces for texturing.

* A bug with UV-Wrap. After uv wrapping a certain face with a texture, sometimes
I find that when moving the camera back from it, that the uv wrap is not sticking
to it properly but is bending and buckling everywhere. .. I don't understand
why its doing thatto certain faces, the uv wrap should stay in place...

I didn't ask Trotskie to fix the problems, I asked if those issues CAN be resolved.
But I posted it here because , I thought this was a forum for discussing the Problems with the Editor that if we come up against any that we were encouraged to post the bugs or problems on here and hopefully someone has a workaround for them....

Most of those are due to laziness in using RED and nothing more, eg. gold/silver keyframe selection, not using the uvwrapper correctly etc

Not sure what you mean about straightening the red arrow of keyframes?

As for clipping, that's a graphics card issue as far as I know. One which I thought PF fixed?

In responce to your questions enforce, please read the following answers and try them

A: RED Editor was firstly designed like this. If you have not forgotten, Red Faction has been around since the year 2000. Back then, there was no such things as Core2Duo processors or QuadCore. So the developers at volition were subjected to make the editor do this to improve performance since back then, we had AMD Athlons, Semprons and Intel Pentium 4's which were not that fast. Graphic cards were AGP, instead of PCI-E. So this fish eye camera is for the benefit for low end computers.

* Shortcut Key to straighten the red arrow of the keyframes if there isn't one already.
If there is, what key is it?

A: I am not sure what you mean by this but if im wrong, correct me. Are you on about the red arrow that you get after stretching a 2nd key? If thats right, the arrow moves with the camera. It is designed to face you than just stay still, so that its easier to see it. Acts like a particle emitter which also faces you instead of being static but the arrow rotates on the line.

* A Bug that stops the selection of gold key when another key is behind it or vice versa.

A: Well the selection process on this is not really a bug. What ever you create thats new on top of something else, will be the keyframe you select first. You can temparily move the key and select the gold key that you want to select and after your finished, you can move it back into place..

* A Bug that stops selecting all the faces on a brush (manually with CTRL
key in Texture or iface mode. . This bug pops up every now and again and

outside the main map world ect. . So when this bug happens and the troubled

box around it and then it will highlight all the faces for texturing.

A: There is a method you can use to stop this from happening. Select the brush you do not want to touch and press Q. Doing this will make the brush go grey. This means you cannot select this brush in any mode, unless you press Shift + Q to unhide them.

* A bug with UV-Wrap. After uv wrapping a certain face with a texture, sometimes

to it properly but is bending and buckling everywhere. .. I don't understand

A: This is because you are texturing on a face with a weird shape. What you need to do is texture the face first without UV wrapping it. go into face mode, select the textured face and click "Triangulate". This will then split the brush from one side to the other, creating a diagonal line down the face. This way, you will not get this horrible texture bug.

Ah, now that answers my question on why the fisheye effect for the low-end machines
But I had forgotten what most of the red limits were, it was posted somewhere
else on here, anyone have it? I might be near the limits now for allowed
number of objects.. I can't run my red help to check what the limits are, its not
compatible with Vista.

* Shortcut Key to straighten the red arrow of the keyframes if there isn't one already.

Spikey. This issue of crooked keyframes is now solved. The mouse has got no control over where the keyframe ends up when you drag it out. but if you use the arrow keys on the keyboard and adjust the grid size setting, you can control the keyframe by moving it around on the grid and keeps that line nice and straight where you move it to.......

As for the green Arrow on the keyframe I don't know if the grid is needed
to find the right angle.

I see, well In that case, then red just needs to pop up a window and allow us to make a choice on which key to choose to select if they are too close together to be selected..
or you could move the key away but if yu have lots of keyframes close together, hmmm.

* A Bug that stops selecting all the faces on a brush (manually with CTRL

Actually that might also reset the troublesome face to allow it to be highlighted if the highlighting happens to stop working on a particular brush we can lock the brush,
unlock it to see if it resets itself to allow highlighting..

* A bug with UV-Wrap. After uv wrapping a certain face with a texture, sometimes
I find that when moving the camera back from it, that the uv wrap is not sticking

[/quote]

Ah. That's how you solve that annoying uv wrapping problem, yes it was
an irregular face....

We can't seen to also combine faces on the spheres as Red says they are concave faces.
Its a pity because it would've been good if Red was capable of combining curved faces.....

Thanks for your answers Spikey, they helped alot.
