Ok so last monday I was sent up north in iraq to another post to support 3 CH-47s as part of a backup plan because of sandstorms here at my post. After landing at 3am i looked up at the night sky was able to see our galaxy stretching aross the night sky. I tried to take pictures of it with my camera, but it just isnt good for night shots even with the night settings on and the iso cranked up. What camera's do you guys suggest for taing excellent shots anytime of the day, includig good ones at night.

To get decent night shots of stars you need to be able to take long exposures. Not sure many digital cameras allow you to do that beyond slight iso changes - an SLR would be your best bet if you can find someone with one or get your hands on one yourself. They arn't cheap though!
Good to see you still visit L4Y, hope it's going well over there Outlaw

I was looking at Canon's SLR cameras the other night seeing if those ones or their pricey cameras with the CMOS processor CENSORED was good.

A good entry photography camera at a decent price is the Nikon D60. For a little more the Canon EOS XTi or Nikon D80
