The first QuakeCon was held in 1996. It is the 'World's Premier Multiplayer Gaming Event'. Some of the sponsors this year include: AMD, ID, Activision, Nvidia, Linksys, just to name a few.
One of the most anticipated activities this year is the Doom 3 preview. Activision and id Software announced that Doom 3 multiplayer will be playable at the event. QuakeCon attendees will get to play four-player deathmatch games on a level codeveloped by id Software and UK-based Splash Damage.
Guess it wasn't in the L4Y budget to send me this year.  lol
