Development studio 3D Realms is widely reported to be giving up after 13 years of developing the long-awaited Duke Nukem Forever and is shutting up shop due to 'funding issues', and that employees have already been handed pink slips.
3D Realms' webmaster, Joe Siegler, told TechHotDish that he didn't know about it even the day before.
But there appears to be a ray of hope on the horizon - Apogee and Deep Silver say they are unaffected by the situation at 3D Realms and that development on the Duke Nukem Trilogy is continuing as planned.
So only another 13 years to wait, then.
