Hey as i have noticed alot of people on L4Y have a xbox 360 and i was wondering if any one has encountered the Xbox saying Open Tray even though there is a disk in the tray, i got The orange box today and played it for 10mins before turning off my xbox, Now it says with all my games "open tray" apart from Gears of War 1 (which is my oldest game) does anyone know whats going on????

Probably a sign that the CD laser's on the verge of breaking.

I had that too. Just eject and reinsert the CD until it runs.

I just tryed a disk cleaner now every game work apart from Halo3 (which is fully Scratched cause i gave to mate) and this new Orange Box.......there isn't a single mark on the Orange box but the other disks which work have finger prints (which i have just cleaned now)

Is your console connected to live and fully updated? NXE?

Try using the CD lense cleaner again, if the disk is defective you can send it back under warranty (listed in the back of the manual)

Yip fully Connected to Live and fully Update (NXE etc) did the CD lense cleaner again and still open tray on orange box

Take the orange box back to the store you bought it they should give you a new copy if you still have the receipt.

yeah thats what i have planed for today.....i couldn't return it as my girlfriend purchased it just before it closed so i have been trying to find out what else could of been wrong, i know the xbox isn't chewing the disk as its on its side not standing up and isn't making any loud noises

All else fails try the warranty in the back of the manual. It has a phone number, ring them up and explain the problem. I BELIEVE its a 90 day warranty.

Ended out they had given me the wrong disk.....they gave me a pre-owned one which had a scratch going around the disk which i couldn't see they gave me a new one and also repaired all my old xbox games

Thats good ya got it sorted, but bad about the mix-up. that sort of thing should not happen!

Im wary of "repairing" scratches on disks as they actually strip off a protective layer around the disk, which the scratch is normally in (hence removing the scratch). Surely removing that layer is a bad thing?
