I have been playing with this card for a few weeks and have to say ,I am very happy with it. I have played crysis on max and it runs smooth as silk. Played some call to duty and its just flawless. Some of the levels that used to run choppy in Rf now run smooth. Its quiet and runs cool. If your thinking of and upgrade for Rf3, i believe this one will do the job just fine. The GTX295 is a bit better, but 200 bucks more. Overall i am really impressed by it. The size of this card is comical by the way.

Yeah it's a good card.
Doesn't take much to run RF smooth, though. LOL Neither CoD.

But to the people that want to upgrade for RF:G, you do not have to grab a mighty and uber expensive 285.
A GTX260 will do the job just as good, with max detail. The higher cards are for enthusiasts, just to clear that out, hardware doesn't have to be expensive at all to play actual games.

The Gtx 260 was my first choice and i would have been happy with its performance and definatly the price. Noise and heat were a deal killer for the Gtx 260. My days of screaming fans have come to an end.
Its so nice to have a near silent video card for a change. For a little bit over a hundred bucks more than the 260 it was worth it.

Well you do know that you can change out the hsf for any vid card right? Plus, most people that grab the 4870s or 260s(or higher of course) tend to grab Thermalright HR-03s.

Interesting cooler... I guess paired with a 120 mm fan it should still remain quiet. It seems to get a bit hot under load without the fan. By the time one buys an after market cooler and a fan ,there almost up to the same price as the 285. I would be willing to bet by the time rf3 comes out the 285 will be at the same price the 260 is now. They have already dropped it to the price of a 280. I see the point of best value for the dollar .
I have a 300 dollar ti4800 .

lol well, with the HR-03 GTX I'd advice doing a zip-tie of 2 80mm fans. Perhaps some Scythe or Vantechs.

Like this for example:

This adds better cooling towards the center of the card whereas one fan would create a deadzone in the middle as the 2 80mm fan blades will be swooshing air directly over the GPU
