You aren't a soldier. You are a weapon.
A paramilitary force infiltrates a multi billion dollar aerospace compound taking hostages, but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in its best special operations teams, only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre is cut short by an unexpected wave of destruction that leaves military leaders stunned and in disbelief.
With U.S. Special Forces in over their heads, the Commander in Chief turns to his final option: you. You've been trained to handle the inexplicable, armed with experimental high tech weaponry, and given full executive authority to end the crisis by any means necessary.
"This game looks frighteningly good."
— Computer Gaming World, September 2004
"F.E.A.R. runs on a completely new engine that should provide a truly spectacular look to this title. This means we'll be able to observe all the gory and creepy scenes from this shooter/horror mix in hi-res, with incredible realism and authenticity. Just what I needed for my summer vacation! Apart from being dark and scary, F.E.A.R. will utilize all the modern tech features such as normal mapping and per-pixel shading, and it will also incorporate the famed Havok 2 physics engine that will provide - what else - a realistic physics model that should make the experience much more enjoyable.
Are you still not convinced? OK then, so how about this: you will also be a part of some frantic shotgun-riding car chases and helicopter crashes in real time. What say you? Ready to kill tons of unspeakably ugly monsters again?
On a more serious note, considering that Monolith is behind this project and having played NOLF (No One Lives Forever) and their version of Alien vs. Predator (we'll leave Shogo, TRON 2.0 and Blood out of this discussion), I am quite convinced that the storyline and the voice acting will be on a par with the frantic on-screen action. Monolith has proven that they're capable of making both lighthearted comedy shooters, and ones that are as close to the Resident Evil-like survival horror genre as FPS games get. If you take a closer look at some of the screenshots, you'll see a little girl that looks frightfully like the one from the Japanese horror classic, The Ring, one of the rare horror movies that can pride itself with a fantastically written storyline. Monolith themselves describe F.E.A.R. as a cross between The Ring and The Matrix, and bearing in mind their skill as a developer, I'm sure that the end result will be spectacular and intense in every sense of the word."

Not sure where you got that from. I just clicked the link and am downloading it again.
Click the link, then click the "Full E3 demo" and then the public Virginia server. |

All I can say is "wow"
I cant wait for this game...
Thats the best in game graphics ive seen since Doom3/Far Cry. And that bullet-time-triple-kick move looks sweet...
Hmm
Looks better than any game around..
Looks scarier than any game to date...
And has a cool factor of "the first time you watched the Matrix (in the cinema)"...
When is this game getting released?
If you have a fast connection download the movie RIGHT now.. you wont believe how amazing this game looks. |

FEAR has some of the most impressive and exciting weapons effects we've seen in a game. Not only do bullets hit walls, but dust flies up, shards of glass spray around, chunks of wall fly, papers scatter... it's like being in a John Woo flick. Of course, that isn't surprising since that director's movies have been a great influence on the design team creating the effects for the explosive action sequences in the single player game and the multiplayer action.
The action is so intense and crazy thanks to all of the debris and effects that it can make a guy even more intent on finding the hotspot on the map as quickly as possible in order to see the pretty explosions.

lol i finally found another source for the file and let it d/l over night and just tried it and found out the zip file is corrupt and after like 5 min into the vid the vid gets all messed up they shoulda put it in wmv @ 150kb/s format then it'd only be like 14mb for pretty much the same quality vid. |
