Out of the 7 or almost 8 years of playing red faction I've never come across this. ( No sign of screenshot)
While playing red faction, in white bold blinking letters right in the middle of my screen it said
"You Are Being Hacked!"
I thought it was temporary and played on but my rf started to go crazy so I verbally raped couple of the people in the server trying to figure out what was going on, but before I could get a screenshot ( attempted) my rf crashed. Is this normal?  |

Well, i never really cared, my only intentions were to spawn kill the other team the entire time but now I can't even do that.  whats red faction coming to. OR maybe its a trap to download pf . I dunno, now im just blabering out stuff. |

I would not presume that someone hacked your computer derlibratly to get you to download PF. The thing is, there is a few people now going around who now know how to hack through Red Faction and it has portentionally became unsafe. So now I would recommend you use Pure Faction so that you can continue playing the game in peace. |

It's actually pretty cool that RF can detect that stuff. At least Volition realized that they could never realistically create a completely secure program, and coded this failsafe in. Unfortunately, they forgot something: notifying the user of what to do. So, what is the recommended course of action if you see this message? Just quickly exit (or console->"quit")? |

Don't know about that, I wasnt running anything, mars wars pf, nothing, just the plain old red faction I got from the cd, only programs I had on it was Hermits reticles. |

I once got hacked, years ago though. bout early 2004 i think i was playing RF and my mouse started moving by it self. then RF minimized and it started going through my menus and documents by itself. I knew straight away that i was being hacked , so I immediately pulled the internet connection and it immediately stopped.  scary stuff |

skvlad01 you mean this hacker figured out how to minimize Red Faction and he didn't let others know how to do it. We had to wait for PF and CF.  |

One time I thought I got hacked when my mouse started to move by itself. But then I found out that it was just a shorted circuit in my mouse. So then I bought a new one, problem solved. |
