Since goober spoiled the fun and suprise for christmas, and thinks showing his own rip-off screenshots on Nebula exclusively could boost the visitor counter, I'll post my own story here.
You wonder why this happened all of a sudden?
Well, it started with sabers new CrystalFaction version. Basing on the DirectX9 engine. But it didn't work quite well with the tool I'm ripping models from other games with. (and it ONLY works with Dx9)
That gave me the idea to dig deeper into the "Dx8 convert to Dx9" thing. I could almost get it to work with Red Faction1, but it seems like it will never do.
Then I installed RF2 and used my technique on that one .. just because I was too curious, bang - it worked.
Of course I'm happy about this finding, but i'd have been happier if it worked with RF1.

I have not decided yet which world should benefit more of that, Red Faction or Mars Wars. |

This looks as good as the stuff on Nebulamods website.  My question is how is it going to be used in Red Faction or is this moving towards multi-player in Red Faction 2? |

Nice froggy  Well it would be better if both worlds got the RF2 models and have you ripped the red super soldier yet? The one that looks like crysis nanosuit,s a little bit...I would love him as a playermodel.... |

Well I was thinking about a christmas weapons pack suprise.  (which is no suprise anylonger.. )
But not sure if I can really get all these done in that short timeframe, also next Mars Wars version getting closer to be released and gets good attention by the people now.
It's always bad to have 2 things to work on. ^^
And about that RF2 question, no I will not be able to mod RF2 with this new know-how.
It's a pure "ripping off RF2" thing, not contributing to RF2.

Does the tool can only export player models in 3ds Max, biped, dummy & assignation need to be setup & motion will take path to RF1 animation?

Agree with this and I have also interest in new heavy armor models

You can extract data from game based on direct X9, 3d, texture, shader, is why RF2 work.
I know that REDFROG regreted to post the program he use, after the apparition at nebula of the same ripp, the damage is done, is why I think I can post the program for the community.
3D Ripper DX
Anyway, REDFROG will probably continue to take the lead to bring model into RF.

Actually, it looks to me that this was neither of their idea. They just so happen to stumble upon the same application at the same time somehow, and now REDFROG is getting selfish so he can have all the fame. Goober is impatient and wants fame too so he did things his way.
Thats all there is to it really. |
