That actually sounds like the best idea for what your trying to achieve, didn't think of that.
So times you need to think a bit less complicated, to come with the right solution.

I would use 2 brushes one with no player collide and the other solid. Then I would merge the 2 just together in the middle to form a wall, kind of like a double brick wall, minus the gap in between of course.

1. Just cut the hole with an air brush where you want the player to fly out of.
2. While you still have the blue thingy there where you cut out the exit add a solid brush about .25 thick then make it a detail.
3. Fly / View the brush from the inside of the tunnel.
4. Switch to texture mode.
5. High light the texture and choose show sky.
6. Play the level and see if the character still gets stuck.
* If the character still gets stuck*
7. Increase the strength of the jump pad.
8. Make sure the jump pad region is the length of the tunnel as well, just below the new solid brush that you created on top.
*If all goes well*
9. Texture the solid detail brush and don't forget to UV wrap it to match the surrounding brush/texture.
10. Test level again, just to make sure.

I tried it at max strength with no change, Frank. It's okay, I'm happy with the result of using the sliding door. It's very quick acting so that a player would not be able to get back in.

Well it's not always about you or is it?

is it just me or people who map in RED tend to be a bit perfectionistic ...

i don't know a single person who doesn't snap to the grid, even though i don't think there would be many errors in BSP or texturing ... i even place objects snapped to the grid ...

I just realised that when the thought of settling for a sliding door made me annoyed a bit ...

It certainly wasn't my first choice, hence asking for opinions, but unfortunately, no one has giving me a way to do it that works the way I want it to, so there you go. Be happy.

Send me a copy, so I can see why not making Assaultman67.
