Yeah like a new Grand Theft Auto announcement will go unmentioned until Late Night Consoling..Rockstar Games today officially announced Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which will be released on PS2 on October 19 (Oct 22 in Europe). There's not exactly much info to be found in the press release except for the release date, so here's a quote:

GTAIII : Modern New York mafia setting
GTA VC : Miami 80's glam setting
GTA SA : Los Angeles south central, gang banger, setting.. circa what? early 90's ya think...

cool. ill have to get it . but the GTA games are normally expensive so i might have to wait a while to get it. |

Woot! MP oh i hope so!
Personally it was obvious GTA:SA was coming out. there was no doubt about it checkout the success of the others! But only thing is if ya remember how GTA vicecity was before its release almost NO info released on it! now that is the way to do it!  |

This is gonna be a superb game, just look at the PC fan base for Vice city alone, all the addons that can be put into the game and whatnot. Multi sounds good and bad, it will either be spot on or laggy, though so we know if this is gonna be a ported game from PS2 or will it be made for PC as well ?

I should think that Rockstar have made some headway in the multi player direction, after all they have been working on it since GTA3 (if you rip the pack files apart there are GameSpy images and multiplayer menu systems!).
I dont want to believe for one second it wont be better thean the previous, they have excelled themselves every time. As a fellow game developer (wannabe!) I am impressed by the scope and stability of the entire engine, aside from a few alpha blend problems that are pretty dificult to avoid, the game is the best game on the shelves.
I just hope Sony pull their heads from their Asses and quit with blocking the development of the PC version!
If they need a hand programming, they can always call me!!
