Hi everyone,
Here's a little Poll to debate about music in level. Default level music doesn't play because there not right triggered. By making (xmod version) of theses maps, I have 2 choices, clean nonfunctional trigger will music event or make a working version. Xmod is a homage mod to RF and I had the idea to fix the music to be hear, but not in loop to be exhausted by it, but only play at the level begening to give a mood and to underline the RF music.
I know that many gamer love to put there own music during gameplay and also some mapper better like to have music vpp separately to let user delete or remove it temporary. I thought that is not a user friend accessible way to tuff off music, when user can simply turn off music in game settings, what I don't like of this, it remove also the music for the game menu...

Just to specify in case, they will be RF music, each level will have there song if I do it. I will try give the right theme to level, avoid if possible too long sequence, but some nice transition are often in long song...

Like I will always say, Xmod is an homage mod and I always keep in mind the root of RF, even if some maps have 2 pages changelog of fine tuning, it preserve the gameplay and visual alot. You don't have to be worry about the integrity of the maps, at first look many gamer that will test it fast will practically not see the difference. Some maps have more visual and gameplay change than others, but in my eye, they are enhancement that are supposed to please a majority because they follow the original design.

If you're listening to music already, having to pause it to let the music in the map play out is annoying. I usually delete maps that have music that you can't remove. |

You don't have too, if you want to listen your playlist, when you launch the game, you can turn off music in game settings.

I wanted to vote , No music but oops  clicked on the wrong link i guess.
Anyway i want the map only and if there is still music in it that aint fit or to loud
ill cut it out myself

Not in all maps. I always have the "Music" volume turned down, but a lot of the time maps play songs as a "Sound Effect" so unless I don't want to hear ANYTHING, no I can't turn it off. |

About the right mood at right place, it will be mostly impossible to please everyone and I cannot adjust volume or play specific part only with 'Music Event'. I also don't want to remix soundtrack that are already in the game and will add weight to the installer.
But you can adjust volume in music game settings or turn it off.
The fact to adjust the music slider in game setting will annoy you?

I will use 'Music Event' only, you don't have to worry with this.

My Vote: Option 2 : Clean all, don't put music in level.
Some maps made in the past had not my style of music ( taste ) .. I have
my default music settings and dont want to change it every map i play .. thats
the reason i just cut out the music myself. Not to make you angry or what ever,
i just don't like 90% of the music map makers add. Mostly its anoying to listen
to it. I voted No , its my vote and my opinion you asked for it.
I hope you will create a great map to have fun for all who play RF (1) multi.

Your reply reflect your opinion and is exactly want I want, your reply aim to be constructive, negative or positive you do your jOb, him very pacific with clean post I quote few time about adjust or turn off music in game settings to be sure everyone understand, if your vote is still, no music in level, it mean that you don't want to bother with this volume slider in game menu?

1- I agree for sure, but the fact that is exclusively original RF soundtrack, I think most people will feel at home. If not in the mood to listen it or want more focus for a competition match, I think turn off music in game menu, is not a big effort and is user friendly...
2- I also agree, music have a huge impact on everything.
