I neither love, nor hate PF. As a matter of fact, I used it up until last week when we were discussing the emulator program in this forum. I may use it again when the updated version comes out (if ever).

Oh, and may I inquire as to why your signature says "Time will Tell" when you have nothing to do with us? Or is that just a general statement, not related to us? |

Yeah, you never spin up.
You can inquire about my signature all you want. Time will tell is a popular idiom which is, last time I looked, in the public domain, therefore free to use as desired. I chose to link it to a music video. Please feel free to enjoy it. |

When I examine reviews:
• if the review is overtly negative, I will PM the reviewer and ask for an expansion of the review to include positive aspects, no reply within two weeks - the review gets deleted
• if the review is a "how do you use this", I will PM the reviewer and explain as best I can as to how to use it - review gets deleted |

Honestly I think that review should, if anything, be redone. Since the animation length, according to the comparison video, is actually longer than the original AR's animation length on reloading by a few ms, does that mean using the original game's AR is cheating when someone is using RF's M4?
You guys turn this into something ignorant. While I DO think the review is rather.... Bad, it shouldn't be ignored either. However, I do think that if you want to claim it as a cheating "mod" when it is in fact, far from it, you should list specific details. Reload animation is slower than the original animation, PLEASE tell me how this is cheating. And I hear mention of bright skins, HUDs, etc. We aren't talking about these, we are talking about a model recently introduced into the game by REDFROG.
Speculation would show fault of REDFROG for making the post. Actually looking into it shows fault for those arguing and saying it is a cheating mod of any term.
Now, to get more precise on competitive gameplay, from what I've played myself in Quake and CS(S), it's always been stock except for server side rules,etc. The review is what I'd call biased towards this. Since, if you know you wouldn't use it in a "match", why would you download to begin with. You'd download for something different and to have fun with. I admit while when I still played RedFaction, I used modified HUD, reticles, and weapons(REDFROG's). But I also did pretty much nothing but pub it up. I was using the weapons for a different casual public feel.
Just like if you were going to have a scrim/match in a server, you'd possibly use PureFaction, which I'd call RedFaction's version of sv_pure, which defaults stock settings like in CounterStrike Source. So you wouldn't be using the model to begin with. This is why I don't understand how you can even begin to assume it's cheating, especially since the video comparison is proof enough that the reload animation is in fact longer than the original. |

i honestly delete like 1/2 of all the reviews submitted  ... you would be surprised how many reviews are questions to the author, people saying i couldn't get it to work, people asking how to use it. etc etc
if i were to follow the rules of submitting reviews to the letter ... i would probably delete 9/10th of everything ...
So basically my rule is if it comments quality on the file and it sounds like they tried it ... it passes  |

He might have honestly thought it could be used as a cheat. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Yes, he could have elaborated more, like MOST reviews here, but he didn't so...considering the circumstances, I went ahead and approved it.  |

If I would see RedFrog in a Server I would probabbly only see praising words, because I like allmost all the things you made for RF.

been a while since i've been here... and what a depressing topic to return to..
inf3rnus you should have explained why you thought it was a cheat, and if you were proved wrong you should just go ahead and eat your own words and apologise instead of being so petty. give me a god damn break. its realy CENSORED easy to find fault isn't it? the internet is so impersonal you can say all this crap without having to worry about getting punched. Go and get some proof before you make these claims, its like being accused of hacking or cheating when you are just a better player than others, and cause they can't accept it, they have to find something else to blame
RED-FROG i haven't yet played the game with this new client weapon, but i reckon it looks very nice from the video i saw of it. and its real good to know you're still kicking around on the site here. and i also know that you always STRIVE to make the weapon animation times as close to the original as possible, and i talk for most when i say we appreciate it. the model looks great mate, i reckon it would have been cool to include a new weapon flare also (not sure if you have, but just judging from the video)
