Actually the server is in the US... but run form the UK.
Besides, in addition to freedom of speech and all that, you guys have guns. Lots of them. Only takes one annoyed person when you opened your mouth at the wrong time with an itchy trigger finger and suddenly you're not offending anyone anymore  |

Even so, freedom of speech has its limitations. Mostly a handful of specific phrases you can't legally say, and the inability to infringe on other's rights (which any form of verbal abuse or harassment does). Its good to know your rights, but its better to know where they end. |

The right to bear arms is a screwed up ...
basically, our goverment has gone way too far ... or the goverment hasn't nearly gone far enough ...
Justifying the amendment:
The idea is with this amendment is that there would be no way for the goverment to gain complete control over the citizens because they would always be ready to fight/overthrow the goverment if the final straw was placed ... also the idea was that weapons should be allowed to protect people and property, not harm ... a criminal most likely will use a gun whether or not it is legal and will go out of their way to obtain it ... you might as well level the playing field ...
Arguements against the amendment:
If guns were completely banned there would be less crime because the availability of guns would be practically 0 ... there would be (alot less) gun related crime. There would also be less gun related accidents. The 2nd Amendment refers to a time where guns were not as dangerous as they are now.
But the problem is we are somewhere in the middle (worst case scenario) ... there is restrictions on concealed weapons but nothing preventing you from having them ... a criminal will easily get away walking around with a concealed weapon ...
also, there are too many differences in state laws over weapons ... in the state of nebraska it is legal to carry rifles/shotguns in your vehicle as long as you have them in the back window where they are visible ... whereas in the state of illinois it is illegal to carry a handgun ... yet they have a severly high number of gun related crimes ...
In the process of the two sides fighting for what they think gun laws should be, they have brought us to worst place to be ... semi-restricted gun laws ... so basically the people who obey the law are defenseless against the people who break it ... |

Main point is, outlaws would have guns to rob people, kill people, etc etc and normal people would be defensless against them. Also, another major point, if the U.S.A. was ever invaded by another country and the military, for one reason or another, weren't able to perform their job any longer, the American citizens would unite together and rise up against the enemy forces. 1 out of 3 americans have a gun...I'd be scared if I was the enemy! lol

well, yea ... thats kinda the point i was making with the first part ...
but you also have the other reasons ... like reductions in gun related accidents (hunting, kids, misfiring, etc) ... its sad to say but there are people out there who do not store guns/ lock guns up properly ...
its hard decision in which either one could be considered right ... and its america's indecisiveness towards this issue that has put us in a bad spot ...
some actions must be done completely or not at all ... not somewhere inbetween ...
On another note, how come these topics occasionally turn into a US politics discussion? ... Don't you people from other countries get tired of hearing about it?  ...
... but then again, i guess its us americans that continue the debates/discussions  ... damn americans  |

yeah, good point
i dont know about gun laws here in belgium. there arent much bears here so hunting isnt happening much. only on birds. also if someone get killed in america it seems to be the normallest thing of the world. if someone getsk illed over here its no. 1 news for at least a week.

I once had a girl friend. The Relationship lasted for 4 years then we got bored of each other...
Within that time period of my "Life gone wrong", I have learnt that living your life before getting tied down is better than a relationship.
Still, I can have one night stands with girls or something, until im ready to start a new relationship.
My advice to all is live your life first, enjoy your self to the max before you get degraded to the short leesh . |
