Ok, think about it for just one second... slower game for him, faster for yours.
That.... can't work...

Tell him to not play FPS if he gets "sick" by playing them.
At the moment I'm sick, but definitely not because of FPS hmmm

Well i can play it if it was a bit slower... i was not trying to cheat the guy, i mean he is a friend of mine..so i would not do him like that..I was just wondering if there is a way to set the gamespeed, and if there is can we just set it a bit slower on his side of it without it affecting the rest of us?

How in the world would that work?

If a rocket travels with 3 meters per second on your side, it is not clever to make it move only 1 meter per sec on his side That's pure theory anyway, it won't work with Red Faction.

It would be hilarious though, to see a player moving and shooting in slow motion... LOL

The only thing you could do would be to run table edits on everyone's computers (so as not to give anyone an advantage/disadvantage).

Or just make sure he is running about 100 programs in the background so he lags really bad, LMAO!

I know some folks get sick from certain frame rates and others get ill from looking at a 2D screen emulating a 3D environment.

Maybe some Dramamine?
I have suffered in real life for the past couple years, now its your turn!

You could try raising the refresh rate to something above 70hz. I know a handful of people who get headaches looking at monitors with rates lower than 70.

All of my real life friends get sick playing any computer game, well FPS (First Person Shooters). They all play or use to play console games. Now I really suck at those types of games but at least I don't get motion sickness when I do it.

Yeah, the higher the better on a CRT monitor. I know my eyes would get tired on anything lower than 70Hz. Just be sure your monitor can takes the higher settings or else you will burn it out sooner or get a LCD monitor. It would really matter then what you set it at.

I know how to do that ...

Basically you have to accelerate you and your freind (who doesn't get motion sick) close to the speed of light (einstein's theory or relativity states that time slows down as you reach the speed of light) ... you will have to go in a circle (if you went in a line .... the lag would be ... ridiculous) and use a inertia dampener (doesn't actually exist) to reduce the inertia effects that would tear you apart and make it easier to accelerate you and your computers mass close to the speed of light without running up the electrical bill (einstein's theory also says that if you were to try accelerate mass to the speed of light you would need infinite energy ... so since you are going close to the speed of light, and the inertia dampener is reducing effective mass ... it will cost less power to accelerate you that speed) ... you then run the lan wire to the center or the circle and to the router (oh, you will need a superfast connection between PCs ... like instantaneous ping)... then string the lan wire to your stationary friend (who is sick of motion) ... technically time would go slower for you people going really fast ... so your packets would be farther spaced out when they reach the stationary person ... making your character slower perceived by the stationary person ... the stationary persons packets would get bunched closer together (in time intervals) perceived by you ... so they would like their character is going faster ...

Or this wouldn't work like i imagine and you would get a steadily increasing ping between each person ... and your ping would be measured in minutes ... not milliseconds >_>

Infact im pretty sure that second case would happen ... i guess you are out of luck ... unless you used a wireless router positioned right in the middle of the circle ... problem is i dunno if the receiver would get confused since the rates at which it reads signals that come in would be different than normal ... the signal would get bunched up when received by the accelerated PC and the signal sent would get elongated when it reached the wireless router ...

Edit: Whats really sad is that my knowledge of science is so advanced compared to my knowledge of proper grammar usage ...

Huh, my dad gets sick when that happens ... it doesn't make sense to me ... it only happens for computer games ... not movies or regular surfing ... could it be due to the fact that games have static, un-blurred pictures going at a really fast rate?

Windows XP has a built-in setting to prevent that. By default it should only show modes your monitor can display. Make sure that option is checked before changing the refresh rate.

Hey Guys , I want to thank you for the help. Like i said he is just gonna have to deal with it. Yeah he does get motion sickness.. but only like 10 min at a time.. But its all good. I am gonna whoop his CENSORED anyway.. Now for my 14 year old nephew i might have problems with.. He does not have a computer and i built one for him.. Its not really fast ( 800Mghz) but i nstalled RF onit and it plays ok.. Not really great .. I guess maybe if he dont want to play onit he can always use my other frineds computer.. that gets motion sickness.. His computer can handle rf with ease... BTW:

Assman15.. I loved your comments!....

The one and only thing that he is having problems with, is that when i go to look at his properties on on board video.. you know where it says "Use this device" and its either enabled or disabled.. Well all that is greyed out... and i dont know really what to do about that!

any help on that would really help.. because the party starts in like 2 hours
