Click view, render everything, then try opening and see if that works.

Sounds to me like the file became corrupted somehow. Try deleting the config file in your RED directory, hopefully its just a problem with the editor and not your map.

Did that, didn't work.

I would delete config file, but wouldn't that corrupt all of RF?

No. RED checks for config.ini when you launch it; if it can't find the file it will create a new copy.

Heh, I deleted the config file, still wouldn't open. So I decided, "Y'know, I'm using RED Optimized, lemme try the RED that comes with the game." So I did, and it opens fine.

Now, since I have a thread started, I was having trouble getting Geo-Mod in my map. How I make my maps is using a very large airbrush and putting solids inside (which is what you play on) and I was told that one of my solids brushes need to be touching the large airbrush. So I did. The geo mod works fine, but makes one of my movers disappear. Any way to get my movers to show back up without moving my solid brushes away from the air brush?

It is true that you need to have a connection between the "floating solid" and the edges of the large air brush, otherwise it just doesnt do anything.

Mover disappears in the game or the editor?

Can you demonstrate with screenshots?
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:

As I've stated numerous times to you, you really shouldn't map like that... it's horribly inefficient and confusing to work with.

Just use air brushes for rooms and solid brushes to make things, then air brushes if needed to cut out of them.

If you MUST map the way you are doing now, you have to have part of your level touching this "big air brush" but not in a place that it can be easily geomodded... Because then your whole level falls down and the game will probably crash

Open some single player maps and look at how they did their brushwork. That is how RF is meant to be used.

Yeah, use air brushes for rooms. Don't put everything together with solid brushes. Unless it's for detail.

You have already stated this to me...I have a part of my level touching the airbrush, and it isn't working. ATM, I don't care how RF is meant to be used, being that my level is nearing completion, I am not going back to make a replica of a project I have already spent many endless hours on. And I am not stating this solely to you Goober, I am also talking to the others have posted here that have not provided any other answer than, "Don't map that way..." Which, needless to say, does not get me out of my pickle/cucumber.

Unfortunately, I cannot at this time provide screenshots. This map is being made for the RF competition, so screenies won't be displayed for ideas But, I can see the brushes that the keyframe and autotrigger are attached to, but when tested, the brushes disappear, makes me ANGRY!!! I don't understand. They come back after I take the brushes away from touching the airbrush, but then geo-mod is no longer functioning.

Not following mapping conventions just because you don't like them isn't a good idea. Obviously your method is causing problems. I'm not saying you should start this map over, but maybe on your next project try to map the way the engine was built for, it makes a huge difference in performance.

I agree. But atm, I'm not talking about how I map, I'm talking about how to fix my problem NOW. I will take your advice for future maps, but let's stick to what this topic is about please...

Right 2 things. Killer be quick about this and I can hep you im losing net again shortly. Host the pictures, and PM me a link.

Im not entering the competition so will mean I aint gonna pinch your ideas.

Also guys why are you criticising? The method it sounds like he is using is a well known and used technique. Its generaly used for Flotaing islands (such as Island Jam, Imperium March, etc...)

If it is a regular map then it is a very clumsy way of doing things, but Im guessing its not the normal style of map.

If it was floating platforms it would be fine (Think Q3: The Longest Yard) but it hasn't been before.

KILLER, you have to make your mover in an airbrush for the whole run or it sometimes has strange portaling issues.
