LinkSys Staff: Based on the information provided, it seems that we may need to replace the device for you.
LinkSys Staff: Are you based in UK ?
Matt: Ok, is it still within Warranty? Yes I am in the UK
LinkSys Staff: Yes, you the Warranty for 3 years.

Woot!

at least its within Warranty. I have a Modem, but I may not be around for large periods of time, until this is sorted. Explains my IP Port forwarding problems!

Hopefully you get a new router soon. Did they say when? Or how for that matter?

Well I recieved my Email this morning after sending them the proof of purchase (I ordered it online, so have 2 emails an oreder one and a shipping one).

The email redirected me to the RMA which is Return Merchandise Authorization. Fille dout the online form and when asked for the model I entered WAG200G-UK instead of my model which is a WAG354G-UK. reason being they asked me to do this in the email, however later on they state:

Quote
The model number, quantities and all accessories of the product received for replacement must match those indicated on the RMA or the defective product will be returned to the customer and the RMA cancelled.

Bit nervous about that one.

UPS are going to send me a shipping label and come and pickup my Router, the shipping address is Czech Republic! UPS are normally damn good though, they were with my Xbox.

They also state:

Quote
A proof of purchase must be included for all products. A valid proof of purchase includes a copy of receipt, invoice, or packing slip from the retailer or distributor. A copy of credit card statement, internal requisitions, or purchase orders are NOT considered a valid proof of purchase. DO NOT SEND YOUR ORIGINALS.

I only have the 2 Emails... Does this mean they arent valid Proof of Purchase? I guess my first email the Proof of Order is not valid but the other one where they are shipping it to me is? gonna send both in the box just incase.

It says to:

Quote
Please allow 10 business days from the time you mail your package to the time you receive your replacement unit.

So that means 2 weeks hopefully. I have the rubbish Modem in the mean time.

Sounds like a load of BS if you ask me. Every modern router should be compatible with every modern modem (assuming both are ethernet-based). If you're ISP says its not compatible then they're just trying to get people to buy their own hardware...

True. The only exception is Xbox 360 Wireless adapters. They only work with about 3 non-official adapters.

Well this Router has not given me any problems in the past 2 years, excluding this. So Im going to see how it goes with the new Router. The new one better be better than my Current Model. I need:

Wireless (WEP Key) 54Mbps
3/4 Wired Ethernet
My current one is ADSL 2 etc...
