Ok, I got the new game crysis, problem is I need to upgrade my computer a little. And what I wnted to do was improve my graphics card. Right now I have a ATI raedon pro 512 mb. And I want to add another video card of 512 or 256. that way i can get the 1012 mb o just a 756.

But how can I add 2 video cards in my computer is the question.

I have a small bridge ocnnector thats about a little bigger than 2 inches long, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Well for 2 graphic card you need a crossfire motherboard for an ati graphics card or a sli for nvidia.

1. Both cards need to be of the same series meaning that if the first card is a ATI 2900GT then the 2nd card can be any other card from the R600 series, just make sure you get a card of the same series or it wont work together.

Here is a list of all the series of cards.

2. The bridge is used to.... well bridge the two cards together so that they work in crossfire mode.

So does that mean I absolutely need a crossfire mobo to do this, because i don't, which i shouldve picked while uilding the pc . If so does that mean i have to buy a video card thats just twice as strong as mine right now?

Are you sure you don't have a crossfire mobo?

No you should not need a card that is twice as powerfull.... all you need is a card that is in the same series

And the RAM amount will not double when you add a second card. As well as the fact you won't be getting a big boost out of Crysis either. What video card do you have from the Radeon series? This will help determine your best solution.

Also if your motherboard even supports PCI-Express cards, or if so, uses 8x - 8x instead of 16x - 16x. In which case your performance would actually decrease instead of keeping a single card, unless it's not gaming, but rather 3d modelling, rendering, etc. software that you will be running, in which case 8x - 8x will be good regardless.

Please give us some details on your motherboard, processor, and video card. Like ASUS P5E, etc. Without knowing what model the products are, we can't help you a whole lot.

Ah ok, Just grab another 2600 Pro and throw it in the 2nd PCI-E slot. Then use that bridge to bridge the 2 top ends of the cards. I havent used ATi cards myself much, so I forget, but I BELIEVE that you can do CrossFire without a bridge.

You would need a CrossFire supported mobo, like that.

And you'd need any branded Radeon HD2600Pro
