Hey all, its been a good 5 or so months since I annouced that I have returned. Over the period of that 5 months, i worked, but not saying I left RF because, well, a "Super-Large" modification has been initiated 5 months ago, and I must say, progress is around 40% complete or so, and the name is still being debated for it takes place on Titan, one of saturns moons.
The most exciting news I have for you all is that I have completed a mockup prototype vehicle that is propelled by pure magnetism, and it can, visit other planets.
I have spent 3 months researching the flying disc OTC Enterprises claimed to have built and tested. Otis T. Carr is the inventors name. He and and most of any evidence of the flying disc and his company were destroyed by the US Government, violating "National Security".
Now, the remaining man who worked with Otis Carr has started "Project Camelot" continuing in his memory.
I have made my own Vehicle; and have been to the moon, in 4hrs 53mins. It costed me $5300. More info on the vehicle to come in an new thread with many stories of my experiences.
Anyway, 5 months ago I asked V-Allender a question and he replied, a while ago, and I just wanted to share it with you.

I really can't say whether it would be released or not. We've talked about it internally some, but there has been no kind of decision that has been made.

My name is Slitzerfest, im from the L4Y Red Faction community, and i have seen that u helped get back up the game tracker that went down.
I lost interest in RF 2 years ago, and just recently returned.
But my question is.... is there any Staff at THQ/Volition you can get ahold of to see if the Red Faction source code can be legally released?
ITs been years and years and other games by you guys have had their sources released, and we would love to create an awesome mod for the Red Faction community by using the Red Faction Source Code.

Volition cannot legally make that decision. Only THQ can. THQ (to the best of my knowlage) have never release the source to any of their games. I doubt we'll ever get it. |

Oh boy, here we go again.
If you have this so called space craft, i would like to see pictures of it... no, videos to prove it. If you can afford 5000 dollars for a space craft, then you can afford 300-500 dollars for a good cam recorder. Also, there should be no excuse at all for lousy poor quality footage. If you can create a vehicle driven by magnetisim then you can figure out how to operate a cam recorder and upload videos on the internet.
Also, if you have an awesome spacecraft that can explore the solar system fairly quickly then howcome your here talking about redfaction soruce code instead of trying to become the first pioneer to venture further than any man has traveled?
This has to be the worst hoax ever. Slitzerfest, as usual, we will believe you when you show us something instead of just being talk, talk, talk, like always...   |

Yeah right.
Ive been playing this game for 4 years and even im against that they would release the code.It would be too much trouble for the game.Yes person like you would use it for making mods but others will use simply to get this game to the lowest level they can. |

Congrats on the space craft, the next step would be to build a moon base logically. Don't forget your video camera eh. 
In my previous correspondence with Volition, they did not indicate that the source would be released and that Red Faction is not "abandonware". |

It's pretty darn close to it. I'd say give it another year or two; if a sequel hasn't come out by then almost everyone will have forgotten about this game. That is, assuming upcoming applications don't change that. |

i doubt thq would release the coding as people do not really need it execpt twt and mod makers.
any way whats the point of the coding being realeased since non of us know what we were doing and if Trotskie and the twt guys find out /make new programs etc they wouldn't realease it publicly. |
