Hey all I just downloaded the 3dsMax file again and installed it fully etc and now when i have restarted my Computer i click on the Little 3ds max 4.2 button on my desktop and nothing pops up...i have clicked it 4 times and still nothing so i went into the task Manager and saw 3 3dsmax Image names running all only at 00 and 01 CPU and only 6,680k Mem Usage.....does any body know why this wont launch?

If you had it installed previously on your computer and you deleted it or uninstalled it.. Then format will fix it..

That's what happened to me.. I tried to reinstall it without formatting it.. It wouldn't work.. But after I format.. It worked good.

remove the whole folder after deleting it, also the C_Dilla folders if i'm right, but they are hidden,

Cheers i just did that and it came up with a few warning signs so i rebooted and now its working thanks guys

All Right Sorry to double post but now when i go to Export as *.V3D it comes up with message saying
Code
File Name Must not contain Spaces-Export Module Failure

Does any one know how to get around this? and the file iam trying to save it as was just called sniper

Try redownloading RFToolKit and replacing your plugins with new ones... They may have gotten corrupt somehow

Yup thanks i had the toolkit on a cd that i got from here ages ago the ones i download must of been Corrupted
All right another Problem now i just made a 3rd person Item Weapon model to Replace the Machine pistol
Its called weapon_machinep.v3m and in the VPP has the 6 *.tga Textures to go along with it ( Barrel, body, Clip, Forearm and stock)
i go to run Red faction to see if the 3rd person item will work and it comes up with this error

Error: cannot determine bitmap type in bm_read_header for file
File : C:\PROJECTS\RF_PC\vsdk\bmpman.cpp- Line: 1151
A critical error has occurred and the program cannot Continue


Does any one what this means and how to solve?? or am i just a pain lol

It means you forgot to mention the tha or vbm that the new model uses somewhere in teh tables usually...

Does this mean if i placed the texture in 3dsmax as a *.bmp and then Converted to *.tga it wont work?

3DS Max skins have to be in TGA format or RF won't read them. Its not much work to convert and reapply skins.
