Post 3 / 5 Is there anyway to get the steam games off steam and on to my computer so i dont need to use steam. Because steam is a real pain it slows down my computer . If steam slows down your PC - It shouldn't be able to run any steam games anyway. Post 4 / 5 My friend once brought half life 2 episode 1 on ebay and it was a copy but he didn't need steam to play it. I am sure i did see a program once where u could extract steam games and play them without steam but i don't know what it was called. Does any1 know it. Well if thats true, then he did something illegal. There's no legal way to get any steam games (Besides VERY old versions of Half-Life and console versions) without steam. As Goober has stated any Valve games that came out prior to Steam being released can be run as stand-alone games ... but it sounds to me like you have the steam versions, in which case the answer to your question is no.
