Here we go again.

Everyone propably remembers my quite insane bable about my modification projects etc. and propably been happy that I haven't been in sound for while

Anyhow this time I got big time news.

Very soon I will open my own webspace (again) with forums, files etc. However before doing that I need to determine what to put there and so on.

So I will post again when site is up and running.

Start your own site if you must; but starting just another fansite without anything new to offer won't be too inviting to anyone...

Like us - we start a website for a number of reasons; the top on being the applications/server mods we are creating (and a few other reasons)

L4Y has been here for a LONG time and is the best remaining RF fansite. You won't de-crown L4Y with a average "just another" fansite...

I will.

Currently I am working on my site with Drupal CMS.

I don't know if anybody here is familiar with Drupal but so far it has given me so much more possibilities to put on my website that I am nearly stunned with those possibilities, there is more than I could wish. I feel like geek in gadget store...

About content my site, well there will be atleast section for Red Faction and my Projects, also I will have sections for some other games there and other stuff like forums etc.

When I have site done and up I will put news item about it

I thought that notepad allows only YOU to make any changes to site , quite opposite to good Content Managment System like Drupal

Erm no.... Nothing beats notepad. Fully customizable. Everything else just generates notepad code for you...

Every browser has a "View Source" option that will open the notepad file of the current web page. From there its just a matter of having permission to upload it to the website.

*Tells everyone that he can't belive what Assman15 and Goober is telling*

Yeah right, anyything you do with notepad is needed to upload to server and then to be linked from other pages, very stone age kind of way to do things.

Anyway thanks to Drupal's features I can put some things I have long wanted to do for my website. Those include atleast that long waited manual howto create anykind of custom content for Red Faction (Levels, Mods etc...)

But setting up that website is bigger task than I first thought it to be, since I want to do it properly when I got new chance at last. I don't give any solid date when I open my site, but I estimate that within this week I should get it done.

Well FuryThor - The mear fact that i havent ever heard of this "Drupal" tells me that it's not too good

Notepad is the best HTML editor out there. If you know HTML and PhP that is

And just FYI - Everything that is ever done in a HTML editor, can be done in notepad if you know how

Notepad certainly isn't the best HTML editor out there... the cleanest and quickest maybe but from a developers point of view... rather lacking in features!

The first version of this site, CDC etc were all done in Notepad. Then I switched to Ultra Edit. Think of it as Notepad on steriods

Same, I did use dreamweaver. However with Drupal there is little use for dreamweaver atleast now.
Yeah everything can be done with notepad, however it does not do syntax highlightining or autofilling or other things.

What comes to editors. Well there is free editors like Crimsom Editor and PSPad and many others which are free to use and therefore quite good options.
