I played a few demos of last years games and was just not impresed with any of them. The whole Steam thing of HL2 made me so mad I would never even consider buying the game. I just wanted to play the demo one night cuz my net was down but you can't cuz it needs the net in order to play. Then when I did connect it downloaded an update of something for 2 hours. I'm not considering buy HL2 simply due to Steam. The guys at work who have bought HL2 say its a pain in the arse. Its piracy control gone mad... and inflicts its torture on legitimate users of the game. Just speaking about the group of guys around me - theres 10 of us, 2 have HL2, 8 dont. The 2 that do have it love the game (well CS:S anyway... HL2 itself doesn't get mentioned...) but are constantly moaning about Steam. The other 8 of us listen to the guys moaning about Steam and have decided that we cant be bothered with it. I dont care how good the game is (and looks), all we've heard about the game is how bloody annoying Steam is. And this is a group of 10 gamers working at a games company. Word of mouth spreads... Tiberian Twilight. Could have guessed that name years ago lol...
