How do we set up the gas region to show up in the game ?
This shoudl give an effect like foggy dense patches but I don't know
how to set this event up. I have level properties set to use fog, but
dosen't seem to work.

Does this Gas Region event work?

From my experiences the gas region object is completely useless and accomplishes nothing. I could be wrong, though...

It must work somehow surely, if its redundant, Violition should've told us in the help file.

Volition didn't take any time to refine the editor for clients, it was made for developers and stayed that way. They left out huge key points in their tutorials and didn't take the time to refine RED to solve simple errors. But don't blame Volition, THQ rushed the game.

Since the gas region don't work on PC, and the EAX event dosen't seem to work on PC either....They might be only for Playstation Consoles.

EAX effects work fine - but only with sound cards that support them.

Gas Regions have never worked - It's just something they didn't have the time to remove. When i mean "never worked" I don't mean "worked on the ps2" either

Also if i was making the game and i knew i had a pointless object i would do 1 of 2 things;
1. Remove it
2. Keep it and don't mention it in the help file.

An intelligent person would use it once or twice, find out it's useless and then forget about it

If you wanted to create something like a gas filled room that does damage to the player, you could use particle emitters to create the gas and a continuous damage event to cause the damage

The gas region was probably replaced by PE and as the game was rushed it was never removed from RED.

I do know that a gas region is placed in some levels one is (L4S5) but it doesn't seem to do anything.

see two of my maps made years ago first one caves of PsY the original not the second that map has continous damage untill you pick up armour. Also see Angel of death (something like that as that map has a fog like steam coming from the floor in certain corridors. Combine the two and hey presto.

Maybe that is what you want maybe not but hey hope it helps.
