Hey guys, not sure if anyone remembers me. I haven't played RF in a few years. Finally got a new copy of it again and figured I'd hop on and see if anyone was still around. Seems that none of the good ol' servers are up anymore, all the servers I found with people in there were modified somehow (sort of like how Weird Server used to be, I guess).
Anyways, I hope to see some old faces in there....hopefully in a normal server. Now just have to find which custom maps are popular these days and redownload them all.

heh i remember you. Just came back online myself for a bit. DG turned out to be an alrightbloke in the end, i got talking to him on msn once. |

Yes it's a little sad with all the mod servers but you can always find the non-modded ones once you know which are the modded ones |

I remember you Smokemon the player and mapper. I've played you many many times. I currently play on two servers (mostly).
They are as followed:
RedFaction.Info
And once in a while, not as much as I use to in:
Dinner is Served
These two fine server both offer files for downloading that are on there rotation and/or links to the files needed. You should give them a try. Last night Dinner Is Serve was running D2K's lazer mod, which one I don't know since there are at least 4 of them but it is available for download from their site. Just remember to read the instructions on how to run the mod. You can create another shortcut to the original RF.exe file and change the setting to this:
C:gamesRedFactionRF.exe -mod Laser4Dinner
It's the only way you will be able to join. Notice that there is a space after the exe. and -mod 
BTW I reformatted my hard drive yesterday,

Don't think that was me. I didn't leave over any disputes or anything, I just got into other games and eventually drifted away from RF and L4Y altogether.
Good to see you're still around Frank. If I can figure out what the hell you just said in your post I'll be glad to check out that server. lol |

It's true. Dinner is running a mod this weekend - D2k's spectacular Laser4 mod. Why is it called Laser4Dinner? Because I asked D2k if I could tweak the mod to address certain concerns.
The Plasma Cannon and the SMG/Needler are superior and unaltered adaptations, congrats D2k!
On monday Dinner is Served will resume normal RF operation.

No, I bought the game, but I lost that copy. copy, version, disc, whichever word you want to use.
Hell, I bought it when the game was still fullprice, before it was found in the $5 bins like nowadays. |

Nope, there was a windows update that ended with the number 799 (I think) that I kept on installing. A few minutes after I installed the said update, it would tell me that i had an update waiting. After doing it over and over for many times. I said screw it and decided to reformat. Bad part is that I forgot to back-up some of the music I have bought a while ago from Wal-Mart. Now I have the files but I can't play them. I need to call them up so I can re-download them, if it's not too late. |

Well, I'd join you in there guys but after i downloaded the laser mod and put it in the mod folder and added that line to the shortcut, it still says my data is not compatible.
Err...nevermind. |
