Just hired a 100meg connection server from a data center in Adelaide Australia an its not very healthy. costing a premium price aswell

I'm using red faction stand alone. it has a few issues i'm hoping someone can help fix or direct me in the right direction.

1. 0 pings
2. it keeps crashing (or when i log out of the server it goes down)
3. More so to do with the server (ive loaded rf full version on it an it wont detect the video card and gives a error about diect x8 loading.

Id love too know how you guys run a dedi an what program use too run it.

id love a guide for setting up on linux.

Also, the strange 0 ping issue is mostly caused with an improperly configured multi-core/multiprocessor machine. You'll have to activate /usepmtimer to correct it. It's just a switch you add to your boot.ini. You may want to contact the provider and have them do this for you if you don't have acess rights on the machine/don't know how.

1 last thing id love too use some more of that allocated bandwitdh ive got but that program wont allow me too run more then 1 server any1 got any ideas?

dedicated box.

No matter what program i run it crashes how do i fix this? rfsa4 standalone freedoms program ant he other 1 too run multi servers doesnt even work. Anyone got any ideas>?

Can any1 confirm linux would be way ,more stable then windows server 2003.

if it is more stable i got a choice of red hat ferdora centos debian dsb which would u choose?
