Hmm.. 1 month... Well I don't think I will learn all about 3d studio max in a month...
The file is 465 mb or so, which will take me several days to download it as I'm
on dial-up connection, not all of us have broadband...
Does anyone know of good free 3ds models that give us permission to use them in our
maps.... I do know you have to edit the table file to add the model in so the editor can recognize them in the clutter list as the table files can add extra things to the red editor
menus.
So my best bet would be to start buliding up a library of 3ds models now so by the time I've downloaded 3d studio max, then I can spend the remaining time converting them
as well as playing around in 3d studio and making my own shapes (that's if it allows me to make my own models and export them with the plugin.)
There are also other converters scattered about on the web that can convert other formats to the 3ds format as well.
I do not know what xfire is. Is that some kind of compilier?
If we put the models into the main meshes VPP
and add the new entries to the clutter tbl..
When red packs the file, Red should recognize the new model
and display it not only in the editor but in the game when you run it
that should work if I just playing the map myself.
But if I going to distribute my level then I have to pack the
new models with my VPP map file.
Red limits breached?, Yep, (20,000 fces and its still going !)

Xfire is a Instant Messenger for gamers ... it allows you to contact people while you are playing games or when you are not ... Xfire mainly comes in hand for organizing mods and whatnot ...
