Experts please....I had Red Ver 1.0 and in that version I could move things around in the map anywhere I wanted with ease to put doors, lights, with no issues, no problems.... You could select 20 objects or so and it would obediently move those 20 objects to the new location without displacing anything on the map...
But soon as I upgraded this editor to 1.20,... Now I have lost that ability to move seleted objects to where I want them to go...... Now the editor starts to move them and then suddenly without warning they vanish off the screen and wind up all jammed up in one location of the map inside a keyframe.
I was better off with my old shipped version....
The new patch has put a serious bug in the editor....
For before I installed the patch I did not have a problem with moving selected objects
or brushes... |

Yes, this bug is well known unfortunally, and on the bad side of it, theres nothing we can do about it. You want to play Red Faction Online, then you have to be updated to 1.20 with the buggy editor.
Its not so bad tho if you work around these issues. Instead of moving 20 obejcts at the same time, try narrowing it down to 10 instead. If objects disappear all of a sudden, hit the Delete button. Or make a copy of them before moving them, so that when they do disappear, u can hit Delete button, then immediatly paste them. |

Ah yes, of course, thanks for that tip. The Delete Button, will remember that next time something in Red Goes Astray. Those guys at Violition should've fixed that bug.
Pretty sloppy to patch everything else up and then end up crippling the editor.....

Buggy editor?
I can barely remember that bug and as you said, they all move to a keyframe.
If your maps in 1.00 didn't have any keyframes the selected objects of course didn't move to one.
And I think it only happens when autosave is being processed WHILE you move stuff around. Saving "resets" all keyframes and causes some trouble when moving other objects at the same time, so it's not only when you move multiple ones.
You can move or rotate a whole map with tons of brushes, lights, objects with no problem.
And just for the case..don't forget to use the save button before you do massive changes on a map. |

I hardly ever have any problems with 1.2's editor... The only problems i ever have is when i load in a keyframed group, while moving it, the brush sometimes stops moving and allows me to move the keyframes by itself (but this doesnt matter as when you save, the brush will snap to the keyframe anyway) and the occasional (rare) times when im rotating the brush offsets by like 100 meters... but this is ALWAYS fixed with a simple Undo...

Nah, nothing had been proven. So a few things vanish? Its a undo to fix it.
I hardly EVER get this problem unless im rotating like 99999 keyframes... |
