I was making a poster on a wall in one of my maps and fitting in the texture in for the poster with CTRL-M which is how I move and fit textures into place that fit already on the face. For those that don't quite fit I use the UVunwrap tool....

I don't know why but in my version of Red which is version 1.00 my uvunwrap tool window with the vertexs, the background of that window keeps on blinking bright white and bright green on and off everytime I try to select or click on the vertexes which are shown in white, so you only see the vertexes if the background changes from white to green (it's really annoying) it's like trying to pin the tail on the donkey with the window blinking between colors like that with each mouse click... This must be a Red BUG because I am seeing no texture in the window, just seeing a blinking window.

I also notice that the Red editor was designed for a monitor resolution HIGHER than
1024x728 as my resolution max is 1024x728 and the windows do not resize down
to that resolution... So with the texture browser the windows are also oversized
and with other windows they are also oversized and some options are cut off
because the window is too large and can't all fit on the screen....

Definitely Not Normal...

Where abouts is the latest patch file to update the Red Editor?
Things would be a little more stable with the patch.
I've only got ver 1.00, the one that came shipped with the
game...That version is known for errors and issues....... I need to
upgrade the editor and perhaps that might solve this texture
issue that's cropped up with the UV-Unwrap..

It wouldn't surprise me if the version I have is capable of
corrupting my maps.....

I cannot align the texture on the poster properly, when I try to
do so, the texture keeps popping out of place even after using the
uvunwrap tool to fit the texture into place, it just won't stay put.
when you hit Build Map... So I suspect this to be a bug in the
editor.

I'm hoping by upgrading Red that the texture bug will go away, but knowing
Red the bug could be now infused in the actual map and have to
start the map all over again.

The Problem has been solved...

Yes apparently you're right, the person who contributed the shopping Mall Group set had done a really good job on the geometry of the shoping mall, but unfortunately used wrong texture sizes when creating the groups, so there would be texture issues when trying to use these textures or groups in our maps, but even so the groups were well designed.....

I've now corrected the texture sizes and there are no more issues.
Pity the Shopping mall dosen't have portals installed in it yet, Trying to insert a
couple of more cars causes Red to crash because of the lack of portals in
the group. So plenty of portals are needed if you're gonna make a shopping mall.

Acually Infernus, that's a seperate problem. When textures are not the right size, there is black lines shown between them and UV Unwrap doesnt work well. The problem he is having is going into RF with RED still open.

When you run a full-screen DirectX Application with RED open, it messes up UV unwrap and causes it to flash white/neon green depending on what your doing. To solve this paticular problem, simply save your map, shut down RED, reboot RED and load in your map.

PS. To update your game & RED (Both of which should have already been done) you need to download and run this file

Yes there are black lines showing when the textures are not the right size, already found that out and corrected the issue with those textures, now I can use them. I've sized all the textures to 256x256 to be on the safe side.
