Thats right you crazy star wars hatin mo fo's, i will have the mod uploaded buy the end of this week. (having typed this message implies that i no longer have a life, no more GF  or job ....... for now at least  ) how ever be worned the size of the mod might not be 56k freindly. |

Unforseen consequences......... This is what i get for opening my big mouth and anouncing a release date. my top of the line better than yours pc stoped working the problem is. i have win xp pro sp2 installed on raid 0, (for those who do not know Raid 0 is where you have two hard drive spaned to look like one massive hard drive, give much better through put A.K.A. faster gameing the down side is that if one hard drive fails the entire system stops. ) nowi have been dealing with over heating issus for all most a year now ( my pc can double as a frying pan :O ) and as of late fryday night on of my hard drives got a little two hot. sence then i have not been able to bring the system back up. thats the bad news, now for the worst news.... me being the super smart genus that i am made the mistake of not backing up my important data like i should have ( this includes the mod ) now for some hopfuly good news. i have decided to take my pc to some more knowligable people. and opfuly thay can help me recovere at least some of the data from my system. keep your fingers crosed............. |

I have heard this so many times, do you think anyone believes you this crap?
Your thread name is SW mod released. "Released" is past tense, and I don't see the mod, or do you?
Why don't you just stop hyping something that won't happen.
You better proof what you've done on the mod, and how great it is, I don't know anything of it besides Diesels or D2ks lightsword and my character animations (which are not included I guess). Make videos, take screenshots.
There is only text in your L4YCDC.
Players, enemies and Levels are "comeing soon" and the last news was in May 2007.
I burn CDs for the trash can, but at least I have backed up my stuff. Also a HD just doesn't stop that quickly. (newer HDs have the SMART system for that.)
And if you PC is running too hot then there are ways to prevent it from being too hot, called fans. I had a lot of trouble with it the past year due to my new passive GPU heatsink. It cools the graphics card but warms up everything else.

Darth, lmfao, if your "better than yours" computer is good, it shouldn't be overheating for starters. Get a new case with decent ventilation. I can recommend the Antec 900 case as an excellent case with great airflow. And RAID doesn't mean faster gaming, and the thoroughput you placed was in wrong tense. RAID allows faster streamlining of your applications, such as improved load time in games, but nothing more.
I was slightly awaiting this mod. But meh. Get a decent rig mate..... |

FIrst: let me explain the tittle of this threed it was sapos to read STAR WARS mod to be released this week... how ever there is a limit on how many letter you can have to i cut out th "to be"
Second: being that my pc is in a desk which is not easy to get in and out of i never really wanted to take the THIRTY minutes required to remove my pc from it's holding place. there for i really had no clue why it was over heating. but once my raid 0 array went down, i had no chouce but to remove it. i now know that one all of my ide / SATA / power cable where blocking all of the air flow between my fans and hard drives and that two of my five fans had stoped working compleatly (one just because the other clogged with dust)
Third: the specs to my pc
TWO cd/dvd-rw's useing ide cable's wich are useing umd2
two 80 gb hard drive one raid 0 to look like one big 160 gb drive using SATA cables
one 40 gb drive for backup purpuses (such as downloaded mods college work ect) also using SATA
pentum 4 4.5 ghz
two one gb SDDR and two 512 SDDR sticks of ram equling 3 gb total (mother board can handle 4 but windows will only read three)
GeForce 6800 ultra Memory Interface 256-bit Memory 512 MB PCI Express 16x |

Dust is a PC hardware killer. If you want to have a long life for your hardware you must maintain it. Look at the fans and hardware of my PC, no dust. Theres only some on the bottom and sound card, who cares.
And blocking the airflow is one of the stupiest ond worst things you could do.
Aren't those RAID cables really thin? So how can they block the airflow?
And also, newer systems like yours should have rounded IDE cables.
You didn't want to "waste" 30minutes of your life on removing the PC from your desk (though I can't image how it can be attached to it at all), now you can waste some money on repairing it  |

Yes my raid cables are thin and i do have rounded ide cables. what i did not think of though was whin i was building my pc it was laying on it's side. once i stood it upright, gravity decided to reposition my cables for me, now as far as my desk is comserned. it's built in a way to where you have to remove two of the sstationary shelves befor you can remove my pc tower. plus feed the cords through a very narrow hidaway which i had to remove as well being that i have way too many cords stuck in..... just in case any one is wondering how i can reply to the forum with out my pc... i'm using the family pc. which sucks mager XXXXX. anyway here is to hoping that by this time saterday the pc shop i too my pc to will have recovered a good chunk of my data.... if not... does any one still have the last version of the mod i sent them through MSN????? |

Darth... You're running a Pentium 4(Which is more likely 3.5GHz), lol. No offense mate, but you're on like, the bottom of the food chain for pcs Your processor is holding back the 6800Ultra, which, btw, is AGP 8x if you are using P4. Unless you are using one of the new manufacturer "dual core" solutions of 2x Pentium4/D procs. But your RAM is DDR, not DDR2, so that would be AGP
(psst, WindowsXP Home/Pro 32-bit will hold a total of 3.5GB, WinXP 64-bit will hold up to 16G
I can recommend you go dual core with either AMD Athlon64 X2 or Intel C2D ^^ AMD being the more budget friendly atm.
(lol, just noticed, you said SDDR, SDDR cards are SanDisk Flash/Jump/Thumb drives)
Anyway, enough ranting Let us know if you get it back or so. I'd be interested in playing the mod. I'm interested in this... force lighting |

think you sobe for pointing out my few mistakes yes my p4 is 3.5 and my memmer is sync DDR now beleave what you want but there is no agp slot on my mother board. just 4 pci's 3 pci express 1x and one pci express 16x also just to mention there are three ide slots one normail and two that utalize umd. even if my pc i a little old (oneyear & five month's ) i can still play doom 3 and quake 4 (dual monitors, of corse i have to alt tab between the two) both of which are set to ultra high graphic setting with the super graphic mods added, and yet i still get no lag. |

rofl who plays Quake4 and Doom3 simultaneously?
At the moment you cool tab the game out, it will not render the scene anymore which means you can play the other game with no problem. However the game is caching textures and sounds in the RAM.
Q4 and Doom3 at the same time on ultra high requires minimum 2GB+ of RAM.
One game at a time requires minimum 1GB and minimum 256MB GPU RAM.
This should result in heavy flushing and reloading data to RAM when switching games which takes some time even with 2GB+ of RAM.
So think before you write those stories. Ultra high is really pumping the memory till there is no more. |

So you do not beleave that i can play doom3 and quake 4 at the same time. well being that we are literaly on other end of the world, you would still dought it if i recorded it useing my camcorder. so i'm not even going to. now as far as percentages for my mod, rember that i do not know how create new weapon and player models. which is i'd a good 15-20 percent of the mod. so as of right now it's 80% done. i found an allmost up to date version of what i was testing with. all i need to do is add the dual pistols. and the KATANA. and figuer out why SP crashes at the first robot fight.......... that is once i get my pc back.... (hopfuly with the newist version on the mod still intact).........
P.S. haveing no life again really sucks espasily with no pc |
