How many people in the l4y fourm have gold status?, or is it only the admins and networking staff etc etcthat use it. and how many normal people use it in the red faction communtity if there is any  |

The ones that have gold status have this  mark next to the names just look at mine and u see what i mean 
And yes anyone can have gold status just subscribe and there you go  |

Might i add.... Staffers only get the privlage of Gold if they work hard each month |

Bah i wouldnt pay for it if i was staff, because it's like payment for being a member of staff and helping the gaming community in my opnion lol, i wonder if any staff thinks that |

Well, i don't think that garner should have to give staff members perks for being staff ...
I only joined because i wanted to help out L4Y to becoming more popular in the gaming community
If you are trying to become staff to get gold for free you are becoming staff for the wrong reasons in my opinion  |

Long, long ago in our galaxy right here - there was a time when L4Y made files available for download to everyone regardless of membership. I downloaded many files.
I felt guilty. 
I became a member and when I had extra cabbage - I coughed up a pile and sent it to Garner.
Now I feel better. 
As fate would have it: I am broke - again. But now I am staff.
Provided I pull my own weight, I can earn "Gold" status.
I do not derive satisfaction from "Gold" status.
I derive satisfaction from doing a job and doing it well. |

I have "Gold Status" and I am not staff here.
I did it the old fashion way. I slept with my bosses wife. Wait, that was another place not here. I did it by subscribing to the site. I like the site and thus I need to support it. I don't have to. I NEED TO! You could say it's a nasty habit I need to quick, or not. |

I have been around this site for a number of years and a couple of years ago when the site was becoming to expensive for Garner to fund on his own, and he introduced the idea of gold membership I was one of the first non-staffers to sign up, mainly because I would hate to see the site disappear, even though I only use it mostly these days to play PC as I am no longer active in RF, my map is still here for download though, so I feel that $50 US is a small price to pay for the quality and resourcefulness of L4Y. |
