Well there has been alot of discussing about not being able to download red faction....

any way my point is that red faction should be downloadable because people are loosing they discs when they want to reinstall it back on to there computers etc etc

now some of you say there are copy rights laws and stuff, but havn't you guys realised, Voltion and Thq have abanded this game and wouldn't give a damb what happend to it, all they know what to do is just run the master server.

and some of you say "just go and buy it" well in a few months time there will not be any more Red factions on sale on ebay, and the shops don't sell the pc version any more they jut sell the ps2 version, so really this game has no hope unless you put a full redfaction download so more people will play because they have downloaded it.. and save red faction!!

You are NOT allowed to do that.
I bought Red Faction when it came out, and I have yet not lost my disk all these years CENSORED ? Why would you lose them?
They have their own special place in my room, and I barely touch them at all so they also won't get scratches. (they are holy CDs! ) However that also applies to my other CDs & DVDs...they are all still there so I don't think you can lose them that easily. (I think when people say (lie) that, they mean:
formatted C: and lost RF because the never had it on CD
have scratches on their CDR <- those can easily be damaged

If you are using your Red Faction CDs too careless then thats your own problem.

Buy Red Faction, it's always worth it.
You cannot play the great game and haven't even bought it..thats just stupid.

Had to edit your post for obvious reasons.

I have a strong reason to believe that this thread will be closed in the next few minutes do to the fact that it DOES deal with something that is illegal. Saying that THQ doesnt care is just not good enough, IT IS STILL ILLEGAL.

If your open to doing illegal things on your own time, then youll suffer the consequences but you may NOT discuss it here.

The way the law will look at you is simple...

If you have the discs you have a license.

If you dont have the discs... well you'll have a problem in a court of law.
Having proof of purchase might be enough but then again... it might not, without the physical legal disc you probably have no legal right to play the game.

Personally I've only downloaded a game when my disc has physically broken. C&C: Renegade - My disc 1 is fine, disc 2 has a lovely 1 inch crack from the center of the disc. No way that'll survive another outing in the cd drive so downloaded the second disc off the net.
I still have the original discs, plus my CD key.

Costs a couple of quid to buy the game off Ebay. If you like the game enough I suggest you buy a copy and learn to look after your discs next time. I've got all of mine in several 128CD wallet holders. All my games are in one place
