Salut,

I have a strange problem with a custom glass texture:

There is a window. It is made out of:
A solid wall, where I cut in an air brush as window. Both 0.5m wide.
I placed a face-brush as the glass of my window in the middle at 0.25m.
The face itself is wider and higher than the cutout-airbrush.
The face is a detail with a small range like 100.

Now what happens is:
I shoot on the window, glass breakes out, but the texture remains!
(The window still looks the same, but now I could walk through the remaining texture as if it was air...)
When I fire afterwards with a rocket launcher to any part in the map, the texture disappears as soon as the rocket hits any wall...

I just want the window to braek into its peaces as usual...
Any solutions anyone?

Make the glass a face not a brush. Then set the life of the glass(face) to something like 300. This way it will shatter and look more realistic.

Sorry I must have missed that part. I sometimes get caught up on what I am watching on TV that I don't read everything.

How about this is the face(glass) a solid like it should be?

Yeah the face is solid and its lifetime is set to "100", it shatters nicely and you can even see the glass breaking!
But it looks like there was a glass laid overv the texture, since the glass breaks out of the texture which remains visible as if there still was a solid face...
from now on you can walk through the texture as if it was air.

The texture vanishes just when something is geomoded within the map.

I did everything right but the one thing: I saved my cutom texture only as 24Bit-Targa.
The texture will burst just with 32Bit Targa.
I just resaved and it was done... sorry for the alert I made...

try adding the gls_ prefix to the texture

Spot on GTA, If your using a custom glass texture, it needs the Prefix to be able to tell RED how it will act.

The Prefix's are as followed:

Metal - mtl_(Texture Name Here).tga
Rock - rck_(Texture Name Here).tga
Cement - cem_(Texture Name Here).tga
Solid - sld_(Texture Name Here).tga
Glass - gls_(Texture Name Here).tga
Security Glass - sgl_(Texture Name Here).tga
Sand - snd_(Texture Name Here).tga
Water - wtr_(Texture Name Here).tga
Ice - ice_(Texture Name Here).tga
Flesh - fle_(Texture Name Here).tga
Lava - lva_(Texture Name Here).tga
