I made an animation of a rollercoaster in a Theme park in my hometown using 3D studio max. I uploaded it to Youtube, the compression kills it a bit, but still you'll get the idea. You can watch it here:

Tell me what you think, leave your comments here, or on Youtube or both

P.S.
This is a video of the actual rollercoaster ride, made by someone holding a camera.

Yeah I know It looks a bit slow compared to the real thing, and it actually is, alltho it doesn't really is that much diferrent, I could have changed it if i used follow path for the Coastercart. butI used Reactor to create the main part of the rollercoaster this means that it all works on physics i had put in myself.
I was glad when I got to cart to make it round the track once at first. I finally managed to have the cart make an infite loop around the track, with working things pushing it up the hill, and making it stop at the station, but you don't see much of it back in the final animation.

The animation has image blur all the way, and its renderred to fields, but the youtube compression kills it all.

Damn!
I couldn't guess it was a 3D creation.
if i hadn't been told, i would have thought it's a real video.

You can't be serious about that, I'm pretty satisfied with the end result myself, but I don't believe it comes that close to reality as you are saying.

You like making Rollercoasters, You should grab your self RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

You make your own custom RollerCoaster using the Tools provided, then you can ride them your self and watch other people go on them.

Also allows you to construct your own Theme Park too.

I have had and played rollercoaster 1,2 and 3 and I liked the games, Rollercoaster 2 was my favorit because you could make the rollercoasters go underground, which for some reason is an option they took out of RTC 3

Anways building a Rollercoaster like this Using Max and Reactor is way more challenging, than using a game, and thats why I did it, and I personally think the end result looks better than anything you could acomplish with RTC.

Here you go, here is a video of building rollercoasters underground
http://www.youtube.com/v/h-73hK6w9Ss

At the moment its being processed so keep checking.

Also, I like to add that I have Soaked and Wild Expansion packs installed, so you might have to install one of them in order to build underground.
