Sorry the thread title was a bit cryptic. Well im having a really weird problem with Red Faction that i have never had, seen or heard about before. there are many many artifacts on every level every witch way i turn.
i've tried rebooting after install, reinstalling, uninstalling then re-installing, copying the installed files from my brothers computer to see if it was the files. but with no luck and the same problem every time. i've tried updating the game and i have no idea whats going on but i suspect it is the graphics card.
it's and GeForce 8600GT i have the latest nvidia forceware installed and i've checked all my settings for the card. my bro have a 7900GS and his works fine. the rest of our setups are pretty much identical except for hard capacity, motherboard (mines a neo5 his is a neo3) and processor Both celeron d's but a slightly different core speeds. we both have windows xp sp2 installed
now is there anyone who has had the same sort of problem here? here's some screenies...
as you can see it clips out of the level. i haven't played red faction on this setup of my computer before. it's not the clientside mods or anything like that i've tried it as i've said with a fresh install. |
goddam it. new hardware, old software. thanks anyway i don't suppose there is a patch or something...?
thats right i cook chicken at kfc. tasty stuff. the card cost me $222 AUD it was a good buy if you ask me. poor RF.
use the "MAJOR artifacting problem with RF" topic if any...
. Can you please take more screens ? I would like to see screens of Warlords and Score (your player modell should be Parker). Is whole level geometry broken or "just" the textures ? Maybe the 24bit TGA format causes these problems. BTW fraps showing just 12FPS ???
