Ok, not sure how to do this exactly. I want to make a walkway that is a solid, but I want it to look like im walking on a cloud. I believe you start out with your solid walkway, and thats as far as i got . Any suggests?

Now, that will make the walkway puffy? And how puffy we talkin'? Will it make it slightly puffy or largely puffy and how can I (if i can) determine how puffy to make them?

Why not use a particle emitter like a sprite so it looks like a cloud (in addition to the solid walkway)? Just an idea
Well the following pic was done using an invisible walkway and particle effects the clouds you see are smoke particles however this may lag a multi player game.

That would cause a LOT of lag thinking about how much I would put in the map. That looks really good, but not sure if what I want to do is feasible.

well you could model a puffy cloud as a brush in RED and make it a mover which has no collision to players. Inside this mover you can create a walkway which collides with the player but its not visible.
I think this is just like it was done in rainbow run. He must have also used movers because there is no other way.
You could combine this technique with some emitters to get the right look.
