Nothing wrong with the processors, the error clearly states "Run by Dell PE2550.
2 processor(s), type 586.
2048 MBytes physical memory".

It either means that RF.exe has got an error and needs fixing... Find a friend who also has Red Faction. Ask them to winzip RF.exe and send you it via any Instant Messanging program.

Extract the zip file to your default directory where Red Faction was installed then try it.

Or u could just download the 1.2 patch from this site...

Dual cores is often messing up RF and other older games try to change RF.exe to use only the 1st core it might help in this situation...

Sorry hA Warlord, Dual cores do not mess up Red Faction. I happen to have Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 2.13GHz x2 and my Red Faction oporates fine.
Red Faction works with 2 cores running on it.

Sorry Spikey but some dual-cores do affect RF...

Well, I'm currently on a dual core, Athlon64 X2 4200+ @ 3GHz and never noticed any issues. As I've said in previous posts, I believe that dual cores affecting RF's performance is due to each processor's stepping.

Ehmmm ..

I replaced any RF file i have , all original RF files. No mods no crap. I run
many years servers and only use original RF. I searched the whole Dell
to make sure nothing harm RF in any way. BTW i just buyed the Dell cause
when all run fine, ill hang it on 100/100 line.. anyway.

I think its bout the 2 processors But now i need to kno how to solve , or
at least try to solv this problem. Any idea = welcome. Ill try it and report whats
up so all could have profit in the future.

Helluuuppp hihihi

Wait a sec, he's running dual procs, not dualcore.

So, the dual Pentium III processors each running at 1.26GHz. This may be different than a regular dual core issue. Anyone else run RedFaction using 2 procs? Like 2 Opties, Celeron, P3/4, etc.?

The error will be within Red Faction its self. since it was designed around a 1 core processor at the time, it will function correctly on a 1 core only. If it works on some Dual core processors, then thats great, enjoy Red Faction while you can .

Anyways, since ill put this simple to anyone who is having the problems with Dual Cores with RF, then go onto Google and search for any fixes or patches that will allow you to play again.

Ur right sobe .. Its DUAL procs , not dual core .

The stepping is intresting stuff, cause rf was disigned for 1 procs. Like sobe said:

I olmost forgot, so i edited this post . About integer overflow >

An integer overflow, or integer wrapping, is a potential problem in a program based upon the fact that the value that can be held in a numeric datatype is limited by the data type's size in bytes.

Hmm Memory ? or mix procs - memory ?
