There are six different modes in RED.. They can be easily accessed by holding Shift and typing the first letter of that mode.
Brush - Shift + B
Face - Shift + F
Vertex - Shift + V
Texture - Shift + T
Object - Shift + O
Group - Shift + G
Brush Mode is where you start when first opening RED.. and with it you can:-
Create/ Select / Rotate / Move/ Copy / Paste/ ect.. (whole brushes)
Use the ten 'Brush Operators' (start of time, end of time, mesh smooth, bend, twist, stretch, fuse, build, clip, carve) .
Adjust the 'Brush Properties' ( "Is Detail", "Is Portal", "Emits Steam".
Face & Vertex Mode are to help with creating shapes which aren't already pre-made.. Therfor with adequet knowledge of these modes, you have the power to create any shape your heart desires... The following list describes what can be done.
Select / Rotate / Move/ (selected Vertex's / Faces)
With the 11 Face Operations + 6 Vertex Operations .. You can begin to let RED do all the work for you.. Knowledge of these operations can be very helpful.. you can combine / extrude / stretch ect (selected Faces) .. and can Weld / Collapse / Bend {Selected Vertex's)
Texture Mode Is important.
Browse default textures ( Cement, Metal, Misc, Rock for Ceiling / Floor / and Walls. ) plus many others...
Browse the custom folder to add your own custom-made textures.
UV Unwrap allows you to Get the size, scale, angle, exactly how you want..
Will Edit later.. gtg |

It's better to have access to many copies of the same data than none at all, don't you agree? |

thanks for spamming up my tutorial thread guys.. much appreciated
Well due to the vibe im picking up here.. I'll leave it at this.. The tutorial was aimed at beginners, or amatuers who just needed to hear how RED works from my eyes.
Group and Object Mode are on the more scripting side of RED.. Where you can take advantage of Events and Moving groups.. Lighting, Emitters.. ect |
