Step 1: Select the brush(s) in brush mode. Step 2: Rebuild Geometry (Spacebar). Step 3: Press "X" or press the "Clip" button on the left hand side of the screen. Step 4: Place 2 "Clipping Nodes" to form a line between them. The perpendicular line comming out from this line tells you which side to clip. When splitting, this line doesnt matter. Step 4b: Press "Reverse Normal" to change the side to clip. Step 5: Click "Clip" to clip your brush(s). Click "Split" to split your brushes.
Note: Clipping cuts off a specific part of a brush(s). Splitting on the other hand, just creates verticies every time your clipping line intercects the edges of your brush(s).
Note: When clipping complex brushes (with alot of verticies/faces) you may encounter unexpected and fairly unavoidable errors such as infinite lines going in other directions. If your brush is not detail, these may cause holes.
Note: Splitting brushes is useful for adding more detail as it gives you more verticies to work with. Splitting is also useful for splitting up large faces into smaller faces for more precise and customizable texturing.

since we are there, how can i have a glass texture on a mover?
The stupiest thing is that Volition didn't even know about their hidden feature in the engine. LOL
There isn't even one transparent mover in RF1. But there are tons of them in RF2
Thanks to goober for his ?mistake? and finding out that bug
Just try to split a mover which has a 32bit Texture applyed on it, and you have your transparent mover.
My explanation of it is that the game wants to split the mover which forces to fallback the attributes of it to a simple brush but fails, some attributes such as transparency remain though and the mover is still intact

Yea, it acually was a mistake. I had loaded in a RED group which was a detail brush, applied a transparent texture and tried to cut part off. It didnt work and i didnt hit delete. Good thing i caught onto what i did and went and tested it
