I am having a problem with my router when trying to host a dedicated server. Let me tell you what I have done so far . I have assigned my computer a static IP address, I have forwarded my ports that I will use to run the dedicated server on,My router is a linksys befsr81 ver 3.1
I am running the most current version of RedFaction server Assist version 4 . The only firewall I have installed is windows firewall , which has the needed exceptions allready checked. And the dedicated Server is running on a coumputer that is being used only for the dedicated server and nothing else. After starting the server I went to my other computer and started RFSrvBrowerser to see If my server was in the list , and I did not find it. So I started red faction and brung up the list of servers and did not see it there either. But when I add the IP address of the server it shows up in the list.

Well, I think previous version might be 1 approach.. I found some versions alot more accepting than others.. It sounds like you are doing everything else right.. I will talk to my computer friend who knows how to run nice RF servers.. without even having to have RF installed on your computer.

Are you placing your routers IP in the add server list in the game?
the IP of the router or the IP of the computer I manually added the IP of the computer if that is what you are talking about

You must enter the routers IP ,the IP you port forwarded .
Also you server wont show up on RFSrvBrowser , but will be in the
server list in the servers doc , another thing is to make sure you tick
your server as a favorite in the game , Hope I helped.

"Im HardCore HxC the happy owner of Cobra 666 servers"
I think i can help you
you need to know your local computer IP not the one you are surfing the web with
for my part to see my servers i have to click "add server" on the rf list then enter the plocal IP
exemple(for my part), I press add server then i enter: 192.168.1.11:7755 (the local Ip and the port i select), then your server should be appear on the list, if you want to know if the others players can join your server go to http://gamequery.de/content.php?lang=eng&page=query then scroll to find Red faction in the list then enter your external ip and your port (exemple 193.251.21.46:7755) if you dont know your external ip please go to http://ipchicken.com and you ll see if your server is online (if the others can have acess)
Hope this help
please post if it run or if you have problems again
i ll try to help you resolve that
