after Having all my Counter strikes Dead Center in the screen (i just find it more Tactical and realistic) i decided to try out the same for Red Faction.......
I started with the assault rifle [DEFAULT using tables] and no matter where i placed it on the screen it always had a bit of a gap under neath it near the screen
[pic below shows the problem)




ok the settings for the assault rifle are
$1st Person FOV: 38
$1st Person offset: <-0.294,0.08, 0.056>
$1st Person offset SS: <-0.194,0.08, 0.056>
[Those are the only parts of the tables i have played around with so i don't think iam cheating if you do think iam cheating please post why cause all i see is gun in different place ]


Does anybody know how to center this with out the glitch of having a gap between the gun and the screen thanks

Offset SS is for slip-screen so doesn't matter really. The reason for the gun clipping at the bottom is because it's too close to the camera.

Try increasing/decreasing the Z co-ords until there's no clipping. The co-ords you've been changing are arranged as: < X, Y, Z>It should require only a minor change in value to move the gun far enough away so no clipping occurs

lol how many times do you think I have to start Red Faction until a client side mod looks properly positioned and the clipping errors are gone..often its over 50launches.
Unfortunately there is no way to change the offsets in-game.
You should play with batch files to get the maximum workflow. (they can do the vpp build work and start the game for you).
It also helps to have the same game resolution as the desktop. If your desktop resolution is too high for RF(all above 1280), just reduce it. However I noticed explorer problems with it when you quit the game.

Most weapons have been optimized, meaning the non visible polygons on the right side have been removed for performance reasons. When you center the weapons, you might get to see those holes in the weapon.

yer i have restarted over 20 times now i have noticed no right side but where i have placed the assault rifle right now i only have that glitch with a clear gun butt and you might not be able to see it in the pic there is a hole near the center of the gun, i centered the pistol easy....It probly cause of the arms cause the are quite long

Actually looking at the faces in question (or lack of them showing) I think redfrog might be right and the butt of the rifle may have been culled to lower the face count of the model. You could lower the gun a little so that there's no gaps?

Red Frog was Right i moved the whole gun forward noticed that it didn't have a butt to it



Then in about 15 minutes i was able to center the gun ( i noticed a few other holes but they are quite small to actually notice, I also like how the gun reloads now, same reloading but closer

Gun is now set at
$1st Person FOV: 35
$1st Person offset: <-0.294,0.01, 0.11>
