Why not just buy another PS/2 keyboard? With the ghetto repairs you've done and your USB not being detected it's only a matter of time until you're stuck without a keyboard once more. |

This problem can be a pain in the backside, here is how you fix it.
First of all, your going to have to plug your broken keyboard into the computer unfortunally, so get wiggling it .
When your computer starts up, Install the keyboard drivers for the USB one. At this point, you are NOT to plug the USB one in
Reboot your computer for the driver changes to take place, and log in using your PS/2 connection keyboard.
Once windows is all done loading ur desktop and other crap, go ahead and plug the USB keyboard in but keep the PS/2 keyboard in just incase.
Windows will automatically detect your new keyboard and install it correctly. Test the keyboard by typing a story or something in Notepad or Microsoft Word...
Your device is now ready to be used and you can now unplug the PS/2 keyboard and throw it off the edge of a cliff .
Buying a PS/2 keyboard these days now is a little difficult since technology is too up to date with its self. Everything now is pratically relying on USB 2.0 - Edit - There is still a few PS/2 keyboard being made out there. |

Most USB keyboards and mice come with a USB 2 PS/2 adaptor,
if not they are about $1 to buy !
