Go to control panal and click , sound and audio devices icon. Then check the box that say's place volume icon in task bar. Check your connections , you might not be plugged into right hole. |

Drac the download links might be down.
I found another site with an updated one here:
Realtek HD Audio Driver v1.61 <--LINK
Be prepare as it's a huge file(24.8 Mb) if you are on dial up. |

On a side note, I too once had to install the new audio card in a different PC slot. It was weird because there was nothing wrong with the first PC slot but moving it did fix my problem. I now only use the on-board one. It sounds just as good as the creative labs one that I use to use.
I have unlimited as well. Most Internet companies here in the USA don't imposed download amount limits.

Yes you guys have got the right Idea. If you happen to disconnect a PCI slot card and re-insert it again, for some strange reason, it will stop functioning.
Have you found that when you insert the device into a different PCI slot, it has to install the drivers again? Its very weird how thats set out. It also does this for USB ports. If you have installed something to a USB port, then move it to a different port later on, it too has to have the drivers install again.
Becareful with this in future because if you run out of PCI slots for one device, it will not function in any of them. |

Best solution is to run the PC with the sound card inserted to any PCI slot. then turn the PC off , "REMOVE ALL POWER TO IT !" , now take the sound card out and run the PC again, , then repeat the above with the sound card inserted , windows will or may not ask for drivers depended on your Windows updates , then update your drivers for the card . also make sure you have your onboard sound (if any) disabled in Bios, its basically called re-seating your sound card , as you have to do with Ram chips sometimes, Hope I helped! |
