As i am typing this i have on my desk a copy of the april issue in game informer. on page 32 there is a loose talk (hot gaming gossip) artical that is kind of interisting. i'm going to type it word for word.
"THQ CEO Brian Farrell may have tipped his hand regarding the company's futur plans. During a recent investors conference call, Farrell said that THQ would bank on some of it's "proven owned intellectual properties." later on, Farrell listed Red Faction as one of it's core franchises, implyinng that it would be one of the franchises the company would lean on for it's futur. However, Farrell made no specific mention that a new Red Faction is in development"
There is a picture of what could be RF 3 but it might just be a doctored RF2 promo.
basicly i sound like what we allready know. there is a new GEO MODE engine in development, but it is yet unown what game it will be used for. could be RF3 could be "DARTH JOKER VS. sponge bob & barny the battle to end all battles"   |

This has been discussed before, there is no mention as stated about an actual Red Faction 3. You are giving yourself false hope. If they are planning on a RF3, then just wait and find out. Or post ona previous RF3 "hopes and dreams" thread. No need for a new RF3 thread every time Red Faction is mentioned in a magazine, conference, etc.
Would it be cool for a Red Faction 3, bet your CENSORED it would be. But am I going to get my hopes up for what I know will most likely happen, nah. |

i would scan the page however i do not own a flat bed scaner, and i do not want to damage my magazine by riping out a page. i do have an internet camera though if i only new where the software was that came with it???

rember a new geo engine does not nessussacrly mean RF 3
also just becaus farrell said a new RF, also does not mean RF3. does half life blue shift ring any bells?
P.S. i can't beleave noone likes my idea for a new geo mode game?

ahhh Darth Joker, ur gonna have to understand sobe sometimes.
Sobe will not get his hopes up for a new RF3 because the possible chances for RF3 to ever be created or come out, is 25%, possibly lower.
From past experiences from THQ and their "Non-Helping abilities", it is quite possible that THQ will not even care about Red Faction no more "Thats a proven Fact since they refused to offer us any help for Red Faction 1".
On the other hand, those who do wish for a RF3 to come out, then keep your own hopes up .
We asked for the Source Code for Red Faction, THQ told us to get stuffed. They were not going to give us it because they do not care about the game. This explains why www.redfaction.com went off. They want to forget the past now and concentrate on making new games for the future.
We ask many questions like "Well if you don't care about the game, then whats the harm in giving us the source code?". They used their brains this time... I just thought of this and I think its pretty logic to me.
THQ probley refused to give us the source code because they are scared that we might edit the game sooo much, it be 100x better and their might be people trying to sell their modded version for the price of a game lol. |

Anyways, if by some miracle a Red Faction 3 is released, I will give you Red Faction's source code. I have the code stored in my head, as I was a lead coder and level designer for the Red Faction team I'll give you the source code if RF3 is released, lol. |

what difference will it make lol? what about if THQ just release a random game, could you give us the source code then?
Or do i have to find where you live strap you to a chair, like in those FBI movies, and force the information out your head by doing something that would annoy you the most...

ANY game with a similar style of play with some form of Geomod (preferrably improved upon) is going to be good. Just speak the words "Red Faction 3" and people go nuts lol. Geomod, a nice selection of weapons and the same kind of movement/character response is what I want. Not to mention better ways to deal with cheats. that's a given. Aside form those things, I'm not fussed about that they call it. It might be nice to see Capek in his earlier years before he got all narlified but there could be any number of other senarios that work just as well as a bunch of miners being treated poorly on Mars. Just give me a game that keeps me amused for more than a day! |

you are right. it is a proven fact that i male will loos a l train of though a tell you any thing with a hot lookking nude female in the room. (or three as in my case. i'll never see that mansion again  still worth it )
anyway just because a new red faction engine is being devoleped does not mean it will be a re faction game,. take for example the quake 3 engine or unreal, both of those engine are used in just about every game there is. and like i'v said befor i would not care if it was a game called "landscaper" or "sponge bob VS barny" or "Red Faction: Legend of Capek" as long as i can destry EVERYTHING i do not care. |
