Okay ladies and gentlemen.
I read goober's topic about cutscene and I went to test some stuff.
Howto get cutscenes to work in single player (100% success rate on me)
1) Create your level to point you want.
2) Place objects in mentioned order in order to work.
1) Cutscene camera
2) Cutscene path nodes
3) Target from almost bottom of list. (3rd last)
Now save your level just to be sure.
3) Now place cutscene event near of your "movie" area.
4) Now edit your cutscene properties (if everything has been done right properties window will pop, if not RED will crash due something missing or not right) Also if RED keeps crashing, delete red.cfg and restart your computer. (cleans memory)
Cutscene properties.
1) First select all path nodes and click on "edit paths" you should see list of pathnodes and top of window is "path name" box. You can edit path later.
2) About properties.
- Pre Wait (delay what camera waits before starts to move on track
- path time (How long cutscene main part lasts in seconds)
- Post wait (how long camera will be watching at target after path is completed)
- Path name (this is name of path camera will move)
- LOOK UID, camera will be watching this object at all times, although it can move around)
- Trig UID (not sure, most likely trigger that starts cutscene (trigger event))
Things to come to this:
Getting cutscene(s) into multiplayer maps
Howto create "dynamic" cutscenes that follow target
PS. that target object appears to be key why editing cutscene properties has crashed all these years.
EDIT: I just noticed that I got some strange Red crashing bug into cutscene, propably because it was not done right way. So one thing to try is reinstalling RF. |
