After reading a post about the banning of player "Wonglong" from a viper server for his name started by a good man , I decided to play a little game with the LS bugs of Viper
I started by entering with the name A Modder, test 1 passed, I took 0 heat for this name
-new map
I change my name to missing, then me and a player with the name default were told to change our names, this is what i was waiting for
I then ask why and is told my name confuses people, fair enough
then i asked about default.... my answer was it is a name used by modders....
I then say "but modders can use any name they want, that makes no sense"
-BANNED
not to mention default is the DEFAULT namre for RF
also it doesnt matter what the hell your name is , if your not modding it shouldnt matter
this doesnt bother me one bit that i was banned, on the count of I can't be banned from servers on the count of an ever changing IP address, and posting this allowing them to know it was me doesnt bother me either
And yes I am former LS, I left because of the incident where wolf-uk place a BOS (ban on sight) rule for all members of +HV from viper servers (which mind u is after the incident where the leaders smurfed and modded in their own server and harassed their own members)
All i have to say is, i think much lower of u guys now than i did before, and thats pretty low
Shame on you
P.S. and dont give me the "viper servers arent LS owned argument", because if they dont own it , they sure as hell run the damn place |

Why would you want to even try that in the first place? Go play at "Dinner is served" or "redfaction.info." Viper server sucks anaways...
So what if L-S owns that server? It's exactly the same as how THQ owns RF. I don't think I have to tell you what they have in common...  |

i mostly did it to ask for answers to the
"how is this a modder name"
but dinner is served is the main server i chill in anyway
it was all to hear what was running through their heads
and obviously they dont like to be challenged |

I do not advocate the harrassment of any servers of any sort. The last thing RF needs right now is server feuds.

i know what you mean though, there are some *insert obscene name here*'s that dwell in miscellaneous servers. It was this harrasment from people that joined my own servers that put me off RF online. Its annoying when you get people with obscuered IP's and unrepeatable names who will join servers and are almost impossible to ban or even kick. i mean unrepeatable in the way that you cannot physically type their names to kick them.
this kind of bull**** is just unacceptable and i am very dissapointed in the people who actually do this for fun.
Seems you've hit the nail on the head KERPAL. Some people live their lives in their computers and get very litle outside time and have no social lives.
i am proud to say that i have a social life and that i am active elseware than on websites and games.
there's not much that you can do to people who take pride in roining other peoples gaming experience, i find that ignoring them when they start to talk CENSORED and stuff like that is the best way to get rid of hem.
people who try to lord over others like in the viper servers seem to be full of themselves and that asserting themselves above others is the only kkick they get out of life.  |

All I have to say is something that holds very true (in my eyes):
IF you don't like the way a server is being run by the servers themselves or by their rcon holders, don't play there. 
I only play in servers where having fun is still allowed. Even though, I do find myself playing less and less any type of online game any more.
Lately I play solitaire. One card at a time and not Vegas style because I suck.  |

If you deliberately go into a server to harrass players/rcons/the server him or herself, then you should expect to be banned or kicked. The only reason for having most of the names you mentioned is to annoy people; are you bored by any chance, or perhaps not getting enough attention at home? 
As for the default 'thing'. That's from waaay back in the day when you'd have about 5+ Defaults in any given server and one would be modding, now... how to work out which one to ban  Same rule applies for those idiots who clone peoples names.
Everyone knows the rules in the Viper server(s), as frank says if you don't like it don't play there. Everyone would be much happier if you didn't |

but still thats just stupid.  I don't think he should've got banned because of that. At least a warning would have been more appropriate... |

Thinking back on it the move was somewhat pointless and going on and posting about it on L4y wasn't exactly something cool to do either
but ill say this
You could say the request for me to change my name was a form of warning (though i was never told i would be banned, i knew it was coming, im not that stupid) and yes i did provoke it
but in my defense , no players were harmed in this act, when using the name missing i never actually touched the flag (i made sure of it), and of course i dont mod or glitch (on purpose anyway)
but really i wont do it again
it was pretty stupid
its their server they can do what they please with it

What can i say to you Unborn  You went to Viper server knowing our rules and Using a name you know we don't Like being use it was your own fault
I was there and i remember a player asking over Default names and why we don't like them being use in any of our servers
You were given the reason why (This is because we have modders & Some players using this name to cause Problems For the players and rcons )
If we have 2 or more default's in our server and one is modding or being abusive How do we know which one to kick or ban
Do we just take a lucky shoot and hope we get the right player?
You were also asked to change your name and if i remember This right
You gave a bit of abuse back Also
You were warn about this and in the end kicked or ban From the server
If <L-S>rcons are so bad Please answer me this Why is v4 nearly always full?
Its like me going into a server knowing there rules and abusing them
Everyone in red faction should respect all servers rules even if you don't like them or just don't play in that server

It's not that difficult.. It's not like you even have a choice when there is 2 or more players with the same name, basically If you kick/ban 1 of them, All of them are kicked/banned aswell instantly, In which case a friendly kick is the right approach.. Next wait to see if he joins again, any slight resembelance from the player you're trying to ban and the player who re-joins and you ban him quickly before other player with the same name joins. |
